She’s considered a top Oscar contender as she’s been sweeping up all the trophies throughout the awards season. On Sunday, Laura Dern went home a winner after bagging her first-ever Oscar for her role in Marriage Story.
The 53-year-old actress dressed for success in a blush pink Armani Privè gown embellished with black beads, crystals, and tassels.

Masterminded by stylist Cristina Ehrlich, Laura displayed her toned arms and a hint of cleavage in the two-tone floor-sweeping gown.
She teamed it with diamond earrings, bracelets and a ring from Niwaka Fine Jewelry.

Her glam squad kept the rest of the look simple. Hairstylist Ryan Trygstad styled her hair in soft waves with a few strands tied at the back.
Makeup artist Gita Bass gave her a glowing look with a flush of pink on her cheeks, a swipe of pink lipstick, and black mascara.

Laura turned the 92nd Academy Awards into a family affair as she brought her famous mom, Diane Ladd, and children, Ellery and Jaya, to the ceremony.
Her 84-year-old mother, who was a three-time Oscar Best Supporting Actress nominee, opted for a black velvet power suit with a white ruffle blouse by Giorgio Armani.

Diane Ladd received her first Oscar nomination in 1975 for her role in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. She scored two more Oscar nominations in the same category for 1990’s Wild at Heart and 1991’s Rambling Rose.
Rambling Rose was the same movie in which Laura earned her first Oscar nomination for best actress. In 2015, she received her second Academy Award nomination for the biographical adventure drama Wild, which starred Reese Witherspoon.
Laura’s 18-year-old son, Ellery, kept it cool in a black suit with a gold-striped shirt, while her 15-year-old daughter, Jaya, looked pretty in a baby blue gown with thick shoulder straps and a square neckline.

While on stage, Laura thanked the Academy, her fellow nominees, her colleagues, Netflix, and Noah Baumbach for “his vision, his magic.” She added, “Thank you, Noah, for your words, for your friendship in art and life with you and Greta.”
She continued to thank her family, including her stepchildren, her biological children, and her Oscar-nominated parents. “You know, some say, never meet your heroes, but I say if you’re really blessed, you get them as your parents.”
“I share this with my acting heroes, my legends, Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern. You got game. I love you,” she said during her emotional speech. Laura—whose birthday is February 10, a day after the Oscars— also added that her win is the “best birthday present ever.”

Before gracing the Oscars red carpet, Laura attended the 35th Independent Film Awards in Santa Monica on Saturday.
Although she didn’t get a nomination for Best Supporting Female at the ceremony, she made sure to show her support to Noah’s Marriage Story, which was up for Best Feature and Best Screenplay.
At the end of the awards show, their drama film won Best Screenplay and was honored with the Robert Altman Award (Best Ensemble).

For the occasion, she wore a breezy pleated dress from Valentino’s Spring 2020 collection.

She paired the multi-printed leafy dress with a red bag and a pair of red Schutz ‘Maryana’ boots.
