It’s a modern interpretation of a dress from the Spring-Summer 1950 Haute Couture collection, notable for featuring designs named after musicians—a reflection of Christian Dior’s passion for music.
Lawrence’s is inspired by the “Francis Poulenc” dress, shaped by scalloped white silk taffeta that fanned outward. The bodice is a masterpiece in itself, in my opinion, with its fan-shaped strapless neckline giving the dress a whimsical touch. The lower half is a voluminous skirt with tiered ruffled, scalloped layers, creating a visual feast of texture and movement.

At first, I was skeptical about pairing a white gown with black sandals; it seemed a bit off, but after taking a closer look, I must admit, there’s something undeniably chic about it. It adds a touch of edginess, giving Lawrence’s entire look a sense of modernity and polish.
