Bringing their own sense of style to the occasion, both actresses showcased unique looks that highlighted their personalities. Margaret embraced her signature feminine style, while Aubrey surprised everyone with a more modest ensemble, a departure from her usual daring, sultry style.

Set to hit theatres on August 22, Honey Don’t! is the second installment of Tricia Cooke and Ethan Coen’s sapphic trilogy.
The film takes place in Bakersfield, California, and follows private investigator Honey O’Donahue (Qualley) as she investigates the suspicious death of a woman, who sought her service before her death. O’Donahue finds herself entangled with a religious cult, its leader, narcissistic reverend Drew Devlin (Chris Evans), and stoic police officer MG Falcone (Aubrey Plaza), with whom she develops a steamy romantic connection.

On the movie’s red carpet premiere, Aubrey Plaza and Margaret Qualley displayed opposing looks that perfectly captured the dynamic energy of Honey Don’t! Qualley’s feminine look contrasted with Plaza’s more structured edge, creating a balance that mirrored the movie’s themes.
Here’s a closer look at their fashion choices.
Aubrey Plaza Surprises in Saint Laurent Plaid Shirt, Skirt & Black Manon Pumps
Aubrey Plaza, who’s become synonymous with bold, sultry red-carpet fashion choices, surprised many, including us, at the Honey Don’t! premiere with a far more modest and understated look, showcasing her versatility and ability to switch between daring glamour and quiet elegance effortlessly.
Her outfit, pulled from Saint Laurent’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection, combined subtle edge and vintage charm. She wore a loose-fitting poet shirt in Bordeaux Craie Noir silk ($2,300 at Mytheresa), detailed with an all-over plaid print, a frilled stand collar with lavalliere tie that gave it a romantic touch, and billowing poet sleeves with frilled cuffs for added volume and drama.
Aubrey tucked the shirt into a darker red Saint Laurent checkered skirt, going for a complete plaid-on-plaid look. While the pairing captured the warmth of autumn, the print and tones made it feel slightly heavy, not seamless. A black belt with a gold buckle cinched her waist, adding shape while breaking up the layers of checks.
For accessories, Aubrey chose gold tones to complement her red ensemble. She kept things sophisticated with dainty earrings and a few rings, including the $3,700 Gabriel & Co. 14k gold multi-row diamond wide band ring and the $2,100 Bujukan wrap ring in 14k white-yellow gold with delicate diamond accents. These pieces added just the right touch of sparkle and polish to her edgy outfit.

Plaza’s beauty look was classic and understated, which I think was a smart choice against her already busy outfit. She wore her hair down with a side part and accentuated her features with soft eyeliner, a touch of rosy blush, and a bold red lipstick, echoing the rich tones of her outfit.
Aubrey completed the ensemble with the Saint Laurent “Manon” pumps, which gave her plaid-heavy ensemble structure and refinement. Made of black silk shantung, these pumps were sleek and sophisticated, embodying the timeless elegance and Parisian charm Saint Laurent is known for.
They featured sharp pointed toes that elongated Aubrey’s frame and slim ankle straps that provided the perfect balance and delicate touch to the busier check patterns. They were finished with 4.3-inch heels, which boosted Aubrey’s 5’4 3/4” height and provided a minimalistic contrast to the ensemble.
You can get these Saint Laurent pumps for $1,425 at Mytheresa.

While Aubrey leaned into autumnal plaid with Parisian polish, her co-star balanced the premiere’s fashion energy with a look that was the epitome of quiet luxury. Margaret Qualley turned heads in Chanel and Gianvito Rossi — delivering a sleek, modern take on her signature romantic style.
Margaret Qualley Stuns in Chanel LBD & Gianvito Rossi Ribbon Sandals
Margaret Qualley, a longtime Chanel ambassador, embraced her signature romantic aesthetic for the Honey Don’t! premiere, but this time with a sleeker, more minimalist approach. Known for her love of flowy silhouettes and whimsical pieces, she opted for understated elegance that highlighted her graceful frame.
Delicate and effortlessly feminine, Qualley opted for a custom Chanel LBD made of black silk knit. It’s a pretty simple but striking dress with thin spaghetti straps, a low-cut square neckline, and a body-hugging fit that skimmed her slender figure. Cut daringly short, the mini dress showcased her long, toned legs, giving the minimal ensemble a seductive edge.
Keeping the focus on the outfit’s clean lines, Margaret kept her accessories pared back. She wore just a ring and a pair of Chanel High Jewelry Signature De Chanel earrings, which added subtle sparkle to the look.

Her brunette hair was styled up in a neat bun, enhancing the dress’s modern simplicity. For makeup, she let her piercing blue eyes stand out with mascara, added a flush of rosy blush to her cheeks, and finished her simple glam with pink-toned lipstick.
Margaret towered over Aubrey Plaza thanks in part to her footwear choice! She slipped into Gianvito Rossi’s “Ribbon” stiletto sandals, crafted in Italy from shiny patent leather that complemented her sleek, understated Chanel dress. They featured adjustable slingback straps fastened with delicate gold-tone ribbon buckles, adding the right touch of feminine detail.
The angled open square toe gave a sharp, modern finish that echoed the clean lines of her look. Set on slim 4-inch stiletto heels, the sandals not only lengthened her already statuesque 5’8” frame but also enhanced her effortless confidence.
These sandals are on sale for $448 (from $895) at Net-a-Porter.
