Priyanka Chopra exuded a commanding presence as she arrived at the world premiere of her upcoming film, The Bluff, at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre.

She embraced the film’s spirit with an earthy brown ensemble that incorporated the original armor worn by her character onscreen. Reimagined for the red carpet, the armor was styled with a flowing skirt and sleek mules, striking a balance between strength and sophistication.

Set in the late 19th-century Caribbean, The Bluff is a swashbuckling action thriller that follows former pirate Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden (Chopra). After leaving her violent past behind to build a peaceful life, everything falls apart when her vengeful former captain resurfaces, exposing past sins and reigniting buried conflicts. Forced back into survival mode, she must face her past and fight to protect her family. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 25.

Mirroring the resilience and power of her character, Chopra’s premiere look was a bold sartorial statement. It was fierce yet refined, like something out of mythology. Let’s take a closer look at what she wore.

Priyanka Chopra Wears Her Film Armor Corset to ‘The Bluff’ Premiere

Priyanka Chopra looked like the heroine of a gothic pirate tale as she stepped onto the red carpet in this rich brown ensemble, and I honestly couldn’t stop staring at the details. Celebrating the first film she both produced and starred in as the lead, she chose to wear the very leather cuirass her character wore in the movie. That alone made the moment feel personal and powerful!

Costume designer Antoinette Messam created the custom-designed leather corset alongside Australian artisans who hand-crafted the piece over three months. Knowing that it was hand-built, wet-molded over a scanned bust, and aged with battle scars and sea-worn texture made it even more impressive. You could actually see the artistry in the finish. The cuirass featured a skeleton-mermaid motif inspired by ancient maritime folklore about sirens, said to be both beautiful and deadly. In the film, it became Bloody Mary’s symbol, and on the red carpet, it turned into a bold fashion statement.

I loved how sculptural the armor-like corset looked on Priyanka. It was molded to her body perfectly like wearable art. In the movie, she paired it with pants for battle scenes, but for the premiere, it was styled with a draped brown skirt from Who Decides War that completely transformed the vibe. The skirt had asymmetrical pleating throughout. One side was cut short, showing off her legs, while the other cascaded into a long, dramatic train that swept behind her. The contrast between the structured bodice and the fluid skirt made the whole look feel balanced yet striking.

Bulgari Diamonds and Judith Leiber Crystals Elevate the Warrior-Inspired Look

Her accessories tied everything together beautifully. Styled by Wayman and Micah, she wore a thick Bulgari diamond choker with a medallion that echoed the cuirass’s strong, warrior-like energy. A few chunky Bulgari rings added to that bold feel. She then carried the Judith Leiber “Willow” crystal woven top-handle bag, inspired by a basket design with crystals and a silk tassel, adding just the right amount of glamour to her outfit’s darker tones.

For glam, Priyanka switched things up. Her long curls, styled by Bridget Brager, framed her face and featured subtle red tips that complemented the brown palette. Morgane Martini gave her rosy blush, soft smoky eyes, and red lips that felt dramatic but polished. Almond-shaped nails by Kimmie Kyees completed her look!

Priyanka Chopra Finishes the Look in Black Suede Studio “Brea” 100mm Suede Mules

Priyanka completed the look with brown suede mules that blended seamlessly with the rich, earthy tones of her outfit. She wore the “Brea” heels by Black Suede Studio, a sleek pair with a pointed open-toe design and 4-inch straight stiletto heels. The sharp silhouette of the shoes mirrored the structured feel of the leather cuirass, while the open toe kept the overall look modern and light.

I loved how the heels elongated her legs. Their clean lines didn’t compete with the dramatic train or the bold, armor-like corset. Instead, they tied everything together, keeping the look cohesive from head to toe.

They are available for $300 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
