The 65th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards was held in Los Angeles and we spotted a couple of Hollywood’s most popular actresses on the red carpet looking very pretty and polished.
Anne Hathaway and Lena Dunham both posed for cameras in very simple yet sleek shoe styles, allowing their achievements (and great dresses) to shine. Lena also showed off her huge upper left arm tattoo of Ferdinand the bull.

The American actress and singer wore a pair of navy satin closed-toe pumps with a gorgeous Valentino Fall 2012 Couture dress. Her beautiful smile took center stage in this ensemble, but her Casadei heels finished the look flawlessly by remaining understated.

2. Lena Dunham in Nude Jimmy Choo Peep-Toe Pumps
Lena, on the other hand, paired nude peep-toes with a two-tone strapless red satin Thakoon custom-made frock. The typically tomboyish actress even painted her toes to match for this occasion.

The American actress has a tattoo on her upper left arm with an illustration from the children’s book The Story of Ferdinand by American author Munro Leaf (available at Amazon). The book tells the tale of a bull who would rather smell flowers than fight in bullfights.
Her tattoo depicts the bull Ferdinand sitting under a tree in a field of flowers. “I have tattoos from children’s books all over my arms and torso,” Lena told The New York Times. “The biggest one is of Ferdinand the bull, which Elliott Smith also had, but his was a different page. What a good message that book has! Just be yourself and don’t gore anyone with your horns if you don’t feel like it.”

It’s a good thing she painted her toes. Lena definitely wanted to look her best while receiving an award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Comedy Series for the Girls’ pilot episode!

Lena is known for her great sense of humor, amazing writing skills, and, of course, her acting abilities.
However, in this case, she needs to be recognized for choosing the perfect nude pumps to complement her look and let that big ol’ award stand out the most.
Lena has had her Ferdinand the bull tattoo since she was a teen and got it touched up in October 2016, writing on Instagram “Ferdinand restored to his original pacifist glory… This was definitely the coolest thing I did at age 19.”
