The two first met at the Toronto Film Festival in 2014. In an interview with ET, Alicia recalled: “We had met at the Toronto Film Festival and just on the dance floor.” Michael added: “I thought [I was a good dancer] until she started dancing and then I felt like I had to left feet.”
After their brief meeting at the festival, the couple reunited on the set of their movie, The Light Between Oceans, which began filming in 2014. The duo said they “properly” met during rehearsals for the said romantic drama.
