Black gowns may be red carpet staples, but two Academy Award winners opted for striking hues to promote their latest films. Recently, both Cate Blanchett and Renee Zellweger enlivened their respective movie premieres with eye-catching dresses coupled with Christian Louboutin heels.

The 48-year-old Australian actress and director dazzled in a gold iridescent number from Gucci’s Resort 2018 collection, which featured a high neck, subtle draping, a front bow detail and sequin embellishments. Cate styled it with a tousled bob, layered jewels from Fred Leighton and Louboutin heels.

Her petrol velvet pumps may have been an odd choice, but Cate still managed to make them work for her. She wore the “Decoltish” pumps, which feature a pointy-toe silhouette and the luxury label’s signature red lacquered soles. They also have low-scooped vamps, slim curved heels, smooth leather lining and a slip-on style. You can buy them at Nordstrom, Net-A-Porter, and Matches Fashion.
Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 dress and Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps
Renee turned to her favorite designer, stepping out in a lemon yellow dress from Carolina Herrera at the “Same Kind of Different As Me” premiere. This Spring 2018 number featured a sleeveless design, a fitted bodice, subtle drape detail and a wrap skirt. Renee styled it with a chic updo, glossy pink lips and a gold ring from David Webb before adding a touch of sultry edge to her look with python Louboutins.

The 48-year-old actress and producer wore the designer’s classic “So Kate” pumps, which feature a pointed-toe silhouette, low-dipped collars and vertiginous pin-thin stiletto heels. Renee’s python pumps are currently unavailable, but you can shop for new “So Kate” styles at Net-A-Porter, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
