The 2016 Billboard Music Awards ceremony was filled with passionate performances and tearful tributes, and Céline Dion’s moment in the spotlight was no different. Earlier this year, the 48-year-old singer lost both her husband and brother, and she took the stage at the Music Awards to deliver a heartwarming rendition of Queen’s “The Show Must Go On.”
Céline was presented with the Icon Award, which she dedicated to her late husband, after her showstopping performance. Though Seal was expected to present her with the award, the tears fell as Céline’s oldest son, René-Charles, emerged from backstage to hand the award over to his mom.

Of course, the Canadian singer’s beautiful performance and accompanying acceptance speech were already enough to leave everyone speechless, but her gorgeous metallic ensemble took things a step further. Glittering on the stage in a sequined one-shoulder gown with a thigh-high split and matching metallic pumps, Céline was proof that beauty transcends tragedy.

The timeless talent looked and sounded absolutely stunning at the awards show. Her dress’s one-shoulder design left her chest modestly covered, while her thigh high split and gathered material at the hip drew attention to her long lower half.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer played up the metallic shine of her gown by accessorizing with some bold diamond jewelry including rings, a large bracelet and some golden drop earrings.
Bronze-tinged makeup accentuated the color theme of her ensemble and loose wavy tresses gave Céline’s look an effortless finish.
For her feet, Céline chose a glamorous pair of golden pumps by Saint Laurent.
These “Janis” pumps are made of an embossed gold material and feature pointed toes and side cut out details. These heels stand tall on 4.1-inch stilettos and one-inch platforms.
