Charli XCX has been leaning into her signature sultry-meets-edgy style while promoting her mockumentary The Moment, and her outfit at the London premiere stayed right on theme.

As expected, she showed up in all black, again, but this time the vibe felt slightly more covered-up than usual. Still, even with the more conservative silhouette, choosing a design from August Barron, known for its avant-garde, sustainable, and reconstructed take on ready-to-wear, kept it feeling fresh and fashion-forward. You may recall how Chloë Sevigny styled her barely-there Jimmy Choos with an elaborate pink jacquard mini dress by August Barron at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Not to mention, her boots definitely played a part in keeping the outfit edgy.

The Moment, the 2026 A24 mockumentary starring Charli, dives into the pressure, commercialization, and existential spiral that followed the massive success of her 2024 Brat album.

Now, let’s get into the look.

August Barron Spring 2026 Slouchy Thigh-High Boots With Peep Toes and Buckled Straps

Charli XCX wore a pair of thigh-high boots from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection that instantly stole the spotlight, commanding attention as soon as she stepped into the room.

Crafted from buttery smooth black leather with a soft sheen, they had a richness that felt sophisticated rather than flashy. That subtle sheen gave the boots a polished, elevated presence, which was a striking contrast to how dramatically slouchy they looked. Though a buckled belt at the top kept them secured against her thighs, the rest of the shaft pooled heavily below in stacked folds that cascaded down her legs. I liked how the glossy leather balanced the relaxed, undone silhouette, making all that volume look bold and stylish rather than messy.

A zip running down the front added a sleek, structured edge, while another buckled belt at the ankles gave the design extra dimension and detail. And the peep toes paired with high heels were such a surprising twist. They were unexpected for thigh-highs, yet completely captivating!

August Barron Leather Jacket Mini Dress With Peplum Waist and Biker Zips

Instead of pairing the boots with pants, she ditched them completely and instead wore a leather jacket dress from the same August Barron collection. It was short and daring, letting the boots take up most of her legs while still leaving her thighs and bum exposed for that confident, fashion-forward finish.

The jacket itself seemed inspired by classic biker style, but it was softened and modernized. Long sleeves, a front zipper, and zipped pockets kept it edgy, but the cinched waist with elasticated ruching created a peplum effect, adding shape and femininity.

Boodles Diamond Necklaces and Minimal Makeup Balance the All-Black Look

When it came to accessories, Charli XCX stayed true to her edgy aesthetic while adding a layer of high-jewelry glamour. She wore two Boodles necklaces, one crafted in platinum and rose gold, set with white diamonds in oval, baguette, brilliant, and carré cuts, along with two oval-cut Argyle pink diamonds and five brilliant-cut Argyle pink diamonds. The other was the Pas de Deux diamond drop necklace, inspired by the fluid, graceful movement of ballet.

Charli also stacked on rings, including her Claude Morady solitaire engagement ring, and completed the look with Boodles’ The National Gallery Play of Light earrings, featuring yellow pear-shaped diamonds framed by oval and carré-cut diamonds in platinum and 18-carat Single Mine Origin yellow gold.

Unfortunately, the earrings weren’t fully visible, as her raven hair was worn down, cascading over her chest in loose waves with a center part. She looked almost bare-faced, wearing only her signature bold brows, minimal blush, and taupe eye makeup, opting for little to no lipstick for an understated finish.

Saint Laurent “Apolline” Patent Slingback Pumps With Strapless Silk-Satin Gown

Over the weekend, Charli XCX leaned fully into glamorous brat energy at the Berlin International Film Festival premiere of The Moment. She traded in her usual edgy boots for a pair of Saint Laurent “Apolline” slingback pumps in glossy black patent leather, instantly refining the whole vibe.

The silhouette felt sharp and architectural, with elongated pointed toes that stretched the line of her legs, creating that ultra-polished, high-fashion effect Saint Laurent does so well. A delicate, barely-there slingback strap wrapped lightly around her heel, keeping the design minimal and refined.

Then there’s the slim 3.3-inch curved heel, which flared in a way that felt modern and a little playful. I’m obsessed with how sleek they look! They retail for $2,500 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Charli paired them with a black silk-satin Saint Laurent strapless gown, priced at $8,000, featuring a soft side gathering. It also had a long drape that fell smoothly to the side, finished with a dramatic hip-high slit that revealed her legs wrapped in sheer black tights with a Saint Laurent crystal-embellished logo at the ankle.

Her engagement ring added a personal touch, while the $9,735 Anabela Chan Canary Love Heart Choker in 18k white gold and rhodium vermeil made a major statement with heart, pear, cushion, and round-brilliant lab-grown canary and white diamonds totaling 153.6 carats.

With her long dark hair worn down in loose waves and barely-there makeup, the whole look felt effortlessly glamorous!

Christian Louboutin “Miss Z” Patent Pumps With Lou De Betoly’s Shredded Lace Dress

At the Berlin photocall for The Moment, Charli XCX fully embraced a gothic mood, stepping out in a black lace look from Lou De Betoly’s Fall 2026 collection.

Her dress had this eerie, almost haunting feel with shredded panels, raw edges, and long, loose threads hanging dramatically from the sleeves and hem. I honestly don’t think this tattered, deconstructed style is easy to pull off, but on her it felt effortless.

The sheer lace revealed hints of skin underneath, adding to that dark, undone energy while still feeling fashion-forward.

Charli skipped heavy jewelry and let the outfit speak for itself, pairing it simply with Christian Louboutin “Miss Z” pumps in glossy black patent leather.

I loved how the high-shine finish contrasted with the textured, distressed lace. The pointed toes kept everything sharp, while the 4-inch stiletto heels added height and a sleek, powerful edge to the entire look.

You can get these Christian Louboutin “Miss Z” pumps for $995 at Mytheresa and Nordstrom.
