At BVLGARI’s celebration of Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection in Beverly Hills in February 2013, Drew Barrymore leaned into the kind of polished monochrome dressing that always photographs well on the red carpet.

The softly draped ivory bodice contrasted nicely against the sharp, wide-leg black trousers, giving the Max Mara jumpsuit a clean, elongated silhouette.

Drew grounded the monochrome look with metallic Stuart Weitzman “Naughty” peep-toe pumps, which added warmth and prevented the outfit from feeling too severe on the red carpet.

Rather than overwhelming the look with jewelry or embellishment, Drew kept the styling focused and graphic.

Her Givenchy Rottweiler-print clutch introduced a sharper visual contrast against the soft draping of the jumpsuit, while also reflecting the darker, streetwear-influenced aesthetic Riccardo Tisci brought to Givenchy during the early 2010s.

The outfit worked because each accessory supported the jumpsuit’s clean structure rather than competing with it. The metallic pumps lightened the heaviness of the dark trousers, the colorful BVLGARI necklace softened the monochrome palette, and the oversized Givenchy clutch added just enough attitude to keep the look from feeling overly formal.

More than a decade later, the styling still feels wearable because it relies on proportion, tailoring, and carefully chosen accessories rather than trend-heavy embellishment.
