She rose to international prominence for portraying Rachel Green on the TV sitcom Friends. While attending the People’s Choice Awards, Jennifer Aniston credited the iconic NBC show for paving the way for her successful career.

The 50-year-old actress was honored with the People’s Icon Award on Sunday. As she took the stage to receive her award, she reflected on her long career as well as the loyalty and support that her fans are giving her.

“If I have any claim to this word ‘icon’, it’s only because I was able to be on an iconic show, with an iconic cast, and an iconic haircut.”

She added: “I mean, Friends was truly the gift of a lifetime, and I would not be standing up here without that amazing show, without those amazing five other actors, and with an audience who stuck with us for a decade…”

Aniston also mentioned her new series, The Morning Show, and concluded her speech by thanking her fans once again.

For the occasion, Jennifer stuck to her signature black look, wearing a black bustier gown by Belgian designer Olivier Theyskens. It features a sexy strapless low-cut bodice with an interesting skirt that has tiers of sheer electric pleats and lace-up detailing along the center.

Just a few days prior to being honored with the People’s Icon Award, Jennifer Aniston was given the Artists Inspiration Award at SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 4th Annual Patron of the Artists Awards in Beverly Hills.

The actress, who almost always wears black to every public appearance, opted for something new for the event. She traded her signature plain black outfits for a vintage printed dress by John Galliano.

Jen looked gorgeous as always in the black-and-white silk number, which features an illustrated graphic print of a Paris fashion scene. It also has a deep décolletage-baring neckline and a ruffled asymmetric hem.

Beauty-wise, Jennifer simply applied a swipe of rose-colored lipstick, black mascara, and a hint of shimmering eyeshadow. She wore her hair down in her signature center-parted beach waves to finish her look.
