Other celebrities should just postpone their Way Back Wednesday and even their Throwback Thursday posts for next week because Gwen Stefani’s blast-from-the-past tweet on Sunday just can’t be beat.
In the ultimate throwback photo, a 14-year-old Gwen Stefani was captured getting Sting’s autograph way back in 1983. Clad in a boxy, cropped sweater, loose khaki shorts, and white slingback flats, young Gwen is the very picture of a starstruck teen. Meanwhile, Sting is the very image of a rock star perched on a motorcycle with spiky blond hair and in an all-black outfit.

What elevates this throwback to whole ‘nother level is how 20 years after this picture was taken, Gwen Stefani and Sting would perform on stage together during the 2003 Super Bowl halftime show. Isn’t that like the most awesome thing to happen to a fan? We’re getting goosebumps just thinking about it. Gwen also tweeted the following video of their performance, saying through hashtags that it was the #bestnightever and it was a #dreamcometrue.
Gwen has certainly come a long way from that 1983 picture, both career-wise and fashion-wise. From her retro ’80s threads, her fashion sense has now majorly evolved to this fierce rock-and-roll-inspired style:
