The MET Gala had its own ‘parent trap’ moment when Jared Leto and Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele gave us double trouble in matching outfits.
It’s not the first time Lupita Nyong’o’s speed dial friend has left us seeing double at the MET Gala. In 2019, he famously brought a wax replica of his head to the event.

Gucci’s Alessandro Michele dressed them both in matching head-to-toe outfits for this year’s MET Gala.
Their cream-colored tuxedos had contrasting black lapels and buttons and were embellished with glittering embroidery.

They teamed their twinning outfit with white shirts, finished with red satin bow ties that coordinated with their Gucci clutch bags. The pair also matched their black leather gloves with suede loafers.

What took their look to the next level was their matching long, wavy hairstyles with crystal barrettes and, let’s not forget, their facial hair.
While it may not have been the ‘gilded age,’ this matching moment was one of our favorites from the 2022 MET Gala.

Many were confused to see the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman on the red carpet not just because he brought a doppelganger but also because the attendees thought he had already walked the Met Gala steps.
The Morbius star was confused for another person who graced the red carpet earlier that evening. The mystery man was later identified as Fredrik Robertsson, creative director of the Swedish hair-care company Björn Axén.

Fredrick wore a custom architectural outfit, called Quantum, by Iris van Herpen. He sported Jared’s signature facial hair and black eyeliner, which caused many to assume he was the House of Gucci star.
Viewers and reports initially identified him as Leto until the real Jared Leto walked the red carpet later on.
Speaking to Vogue about the incident, Fredrick said, “I have heard before that I look like Jared Leto. My favorite part of the night was when I bumped into him, who the press thought I was, and we just laughed at it all. He said he was honored they thought he was me!”
