Jennifer Hudson appeared on NBC’s ‘The Today Show’ in New York City on Tuesday morning to perform the all-time favorite “And I Am Telling You” as well as her latest singles, “Dangerous” and “It’s Your World,” from her new album, ‘JHud’, which will be released in September.
The usually polished and feminine 32-year-old singer displayed a totally different look as she rocked the crowd at the Rockefeller Center. She embraced urban street fashion, sporting a messy pixie hairstyle, a pair of ripped high-waist Topshop jeans, a Givenchy hoody, and a midriff-baring Topshop crop tee.

On a serious note, Jennifer Hudson’s half-brother, Stephen Simpson, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon — perhaps just a few hours after her performance on The Today Show — for allegedly stabbing her estranged wife’s new boyfriend. This violent incident mirrors the tragedy that happened to the singer’s family six years ago when her 57-year-old mother Darnell Donnerson, 29-year-old brother Jason, and 7-year-old nephew Julian King were murdered by the former husband of her sister Julia.
