Jennifer Lopez is back in her Y2K era, and I’m honestly here for it.

For the Netflix Is a Joke Festival Presents: The Roast of Kevin Hart at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, J.Lo stepped out in a look that had all the early-2000s energy, but with a cleaner, more polished red-carpet finish. From the bright red Maygel Coronel dress to her Femme LA heels and throwback accessories, the whole outfit was sexy and very J.Lo.

Barely-There Glamour: Femme LA “Gianni” Mules Add a Soft Nude Contrast

I love how Lopez’s Femme LA “Gianni” mules kept her look sleek without competing with the dress. The beige suede shade made them easy to pair with such a bold red outfit, while the wide mesh strap across the vamp added a soft, barely-there detail.

These mules also came with soft suede trims that made the mesh strap look more polished and luxe. The open pointed toes gave the shoes a sharper, more elegant shape, while the open back kept them easy and relaxed. They were finished with slim 4.7-inch stiletto heels, adding serious height and that signature confident J.Lo posture.

Since they are nude-toned and minimal, these mules are also very versatile. I can see them working with dresses, jeans, tailored trousers, or even a simple slip skirt. They are currently on sale for $370 at Farfetch, down from $434.

Jennifer Lopez is not the only celebrity drawn to Femme LA’s sleek “Gianni” silhouette. On America’s Got Talent, Heidi Klum styled the same pointed-toe mesh mules with a shimmering embellished mini dress, proving how easily the barely-there heels can shift from sultry red-carpet dressing to playful television glamour.

The minimalist mule has also become a favorite for models embracing bold monochrome styling. During a Netflix Full Swing event appearance, Alessandra Ambrosio wore the Femme LA “Gianni” mules in a vivid fantasy purple shade, using the sharp, pointed silhouette and slim stiletto heel to elongate her legs beneath a dramatic feathered look.

Jennifer Lopez has repeatedly gravitated toward this kind of clean, leg-lengthening footwear formula. Her white Femme LA mule moment at the 2025 American Music Awards carried the same sleek energy, pairing transparent straps and sharp proportions with a sculptural gown for a polished modern finish.

Poolside Drama: Maygel Coronel’s “Vestalia” Dress Gives J.Lo a Sculptural Swimwear Twist

The Femme LA shoes paired so well with Jennifer’s striking red “Vestalia” dress by Colombian designer Maygel Coronel. I liked how the dress looked simple at first, but the details made it more sculptural and flirty. It hugged Jennifer Lopez’s figure like a second skin, showcasing her hourglass shape.

The asymmetrical halter neckline gave the dress a fresh twist, with one side featuring a slim spaghetti strap and the other a thicker strap, forming a deep U-shaped frame, which added to that sultry J.Lo touch.

The bodysuit-style bodice flowed into a ruched column skirt, and the central knot was clearly one of its most interesting elements. It created soft draping around the waist and hips, while the center slit showed just a hint of leg. That knot detail also gave the outfit a late ’90s, early 2000s vibe!

To me, the dress looked like a chic one-piece swimsuit with a matching towel wrapped around her waist, as if she had just stepped out of the pool, and it made her look glamorous. A longer version of the dress is available for $510 at Net-a-Porter.

Full Throwback Energy: Jennifer Lopez Finishes the Look With Aviators, Bangles, and Chanel

For accessories, Jennifer Lopez stayed with the throwback mood. She wore a large metallic cuff on one wrist, a bangle on the other, and statement rings that added drama. Her tinted aviator sunglasses made the outfit even more Y2K, while the red Chanel bag with a circular handle matched the dress beautifully.

She finished the look with waist-length waves and neutral makeup, keeping everything glamorous yet effortless.

Jennifer Lopez Proves Barely-There Heels and Y2K Glam Still Work on the Red Carpet

From the sculptural Maygel Coronel dress to the nude Femme LA mesh mules and throwback accessories, Jennifer Lopez balanced nostalgia with sharp modern styling at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival event. The look tapped into the playful confidence of her early-2000s fashion era while keeping the overall silhouette cleaner, sleeker, and more refined for today’s red carpet.
