Karlie Kloss usually opts for neutral colors and simple silhouettes when she hits the red carpet. So, we really weren’t expecting too much from her once Halloween approached.
While gal pals Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner decked out in creative costumes, Karlie went simple: Marilyn Monroe. Considering the model has an entire army of stylists and make-up artists at her disposal, we’re left disappointed.
Karlie stepped out in her Marilyn costume for the 2017 amfAR & The Naked Heart Foundation’s “Fabulous Fund Fair” in New York.

Before changing into her iconic “The Seven Year Itch” look, Karlie tried on a white tulle dress from La Perla. While tulle was pretty iconic for Marilyn Monroe, we can imagine 20 other things Karlie could have done with the dress.
For the event, Karlie switched into the shirred white dress that went down as one of the most iconic photos of Marilyn’s time.
Karlie updated the look with a pair of silver Gianvito Rossi “Portofino” sandals and a Louis Vuitton “Petite Malle” bag in Crocodile Brilliant.

While we couldn’t think of a more generic costume for the model, we give credit to her glam team for at least making her look good.
The platinum blonde hair, luscious lashes and a mole drawn next to her ruby red lips were all done to perfection.
The night before, Karlie dressed up as Catwoman. We hope her model gal pals will help her come up with interesting costume ideas next year.

Shop the Gianvito Rossi “Portofino” sandals in a variety of colors from Barneys New York, Net-A-Porter and Neiman Marcus.
