Can you imagine Kate Bosworth with ribbons and rosettes? We’re so used to seeing this fashionable blond in something clean and simple that to actually imagine her in such details is a bit of a stretch. But guess what? Ribbons and rosettes are exactly what the actress wore when she attended the 37th Deauville American Film Festival held in France early this month.

Now contrary to what you might think, she actually looked stunning in her bow detailed Valentino dress. It definitely was not minimal but it wasn’t too busy either. Kate simply looked really elegant.

And you would think that with such an oversized detail on her waist, she’d keep the accessories toned down, but she did the exact opposite – capped off the look with a rosette and bow embellished clutch and a pair of tri-tone snake print heels, a combination that looked surprisingly perfect! Now it’s because of her python-capped lattice peep toe heels that Kate is here today. Check ‘em out up close:

What do you think of the shoes? Do you like them?

The black knotted stringy straps at the back of the ankles really make these shoes stand out. Plus, this pair has that retro vintage feel to it, which makes it the perfect style to wear with her romantic dress. Kate’s purse is also from Valentino. The pumps are not available online at the moment, but you can find the closed-toe version at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus – a style that features a pointed toe and no platform.

So can you appreciate this version of Kate’s Valentino pump? Or do you think it looks too retro and old fashioned? Would you be willing to spend $995 on the pair? If you can and you would, then by all means, go right ahead. But make sure you don’t make the mistake of underestimating the heel because it’s a good 4 inches. If you can handle that, then enjoy those shoes!
