Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (commonly known as Kate Middleton), and Prince William stepped out of the Lindo Wing at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital on April 23, 2018, proudly introducing their newborn son to the world—just seven hours after Kate went into labor.

As per tradition, the happy couple stood outside the hospital with their royal baby, Prince Louis Arthur Charles, and greeted the public before returning to Kensington Palace.
Earlier in the day, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, visited their mom to meet their baby brother for the first time. The baby’s full title is His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge, and he is fifth in line to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
With her new son cradled in her arms, Kate looked relaxed in a custom red dress by Jenny Packham featuring a white collar.
She rounded off her outfit with a pair of nude heels. Kate also wore dresses by Jenny Packham after giving birth to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

As his wife got in the car, Prince William took the opportunity to chat with reporters.
“We didn’t keep you waiting too long this time,” he told reporters, joking that it only took his wife about seven hours after giving birth to leave the hospital. He added that they were very happy, but joked he also had “thrice the worry now”.
