When Kristen Stewart arrived at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, 2011, she famously bypassed the traditional red-carpet glamour favored by her fellow ‘Twilight‘ co-stars.

While others opted for high-fashion dresses and stilettos, Stewart chose a uniform that would eventually become her style signature: a simple t-shirt, well-worn denim, and classic Converse sneakers.

This relaxed approach was perfectly suited for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” fan meet-and-greet. By prioritizing comfort and authenticity over formality, Stewart bridged the gap between Hollywood star and the fans she was there to meet.

While Stewart’s denim of choice comes from a premium designer label, she famously treats her 7 For All Mankind jeans as a wardrobe workhorse rather than a precious red-carpet piece.

Throughout 2011, these specific jeans became a staple of her travel and event wardrobe, appearing at the MTV Movie Awards afterparty, various film premieres, and during her international press tours across Canada and Europe.

This frequent rotation showcases the durability of high-quality denim. Rather than retiring them at the first sign of wear, Stewart embraced the natural fading and character that comes with repetitive use—a look that helped popularize the “lived-in” aesthetic for designer skinny jeans.

While Stewart was there to support The Twilight Saga, she also reunited with her Snow White and the Huntsman castmates for a high-profile panel on July 23, 2011. She wasn’t the only star embracing denim at Comic-Con that weekend; her co-star Charlize Theron also opted for jeans, underscoring the convention’s famously casual, fashion-forward atmosphere.

Interestingly, both actresses turned to 7 For All Mankind for their denim, yet the similarities ended there. Standing at 5 feet 9¾ inches (177.2 cm), Theron’s statuesque frame lent itself to a polished, elongated silhouette, while Stewart—petite at approximately 5 feet 3¾ inches (161.9 cm)—appeared noticeably smaller beside her, reinforcing their contrasting style personas.

Stewart stayed true to her edgy, laid-back aesthetic, pairing her 7FAMs with a graphic tank and flat lace-up oxfords that emphasized comfort over height. Theron, by contrast, elevated her white skinny jeans with a sheer Vanessa Bruno top and strappy Camilla Skovgaard sandals, using heels and fluid tailoring to enhance her naturally commanding presence.

Like her first outfit at Comic-Con, Kristen Stewart went for cool, casual, and comfortable at last Saturday’s ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ panel discussion. She wore a graphic printed tank top over her 7FAMs, revealing her black bra underneath.

Kristen replaced the Chuck Taylors with black lace-up oxfords, but the look remained easygoing, laid-back, and dressed down. Kristen accessorized with her Little Red Riding Hood spoon ring and gold and silver clover ring, which never seemed to leave her fingers.

On the other hand, Charlize Theron may be wearing jeans, but she can never look any less than the statuesque beauty that she is.

Interestingly enough, she wore a Vanessa Bruno top, revealing the black bra she wore underneath. Charlize finished her look with Camilla Skovgaard sandals and 14k gold jewelry pieces.

Kristen Stewart vs. Charlize Theron: Two Icons, Two Very Different Shoe Philosophies

From Comic-Con’s casual panels to the world’s most formal red carpets, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have consistently demonstrated how footwear shapes personal style.

Stewart’s preference for flats, boots, and subversive silhouettes underscores her comfort-first, anti-starlet ethos, while Theron’s love of heels and polished sandals amplifies her statuesque presence and classic glamour.

Together, their contrasting approaches offer a compelling study in how shoes can either downplay or heighten impact—making their fashion moments endlessly worth revisiting.
