Lindsay Lohan returned to the spotlight at the New York City premiere of the Mean Girls 2024 movie, the musical version of the Broadway show based on the iconic 2004 film.

Gracing the pink carpet at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater on January 8, the 37-year-old American actress, who recently reunited with her former costars for a Walmart Black Friday commercial, embraced the nostalgia in a stunning black dress by Alexandre Vauthier that you can buy on sale at Luisaviaroma.

The Falling for Christmas star’s sleek and chic ensemble featured long sleeves with sharp shoulder pads, giving the outfit a touch of structure.

Her dress’s highlight was the large symmetrical cutouts at each side of the waist, seamlessly transitioning into an open back, effortlessly flaunting just the right amount of skin.

Lohan’s attire boasted a knee-high center slit, revealing her elegantly adorned feet in a pair of coordinated black Giuseppe Zanotti Cohralise pumps featuring ankle straps and pointed toes.

A sparkling belt with crystal embellishments cinched the center of the dress, creating a stunning hourglass shape that emphasized her flawless figure.

In the accessory department, Lohan spared no detail. A black Roger Vivier broche clutch with a bedazzled buckle held her essentials, perfectly complementing the silver accents of her ensemble.

Lindsay Lohan didn’t stop at the wardrobe; she went all out with her hair and makeup. She opted for a smoky eye, winged liner, and feathered lashes, completing her full-glam look for the night.

At the premiere, PEOPLE asked Lindsay Lohan if she identifies as a “cool mom,” referencing Amy Poehler’s iconic line, “I’m not a regular mom. I’m a cool mom,” from the original film.

With a laugh, the mom of one, who welcomed her son Luai with her husband Bader Shammas in July, replied, “I hope so!”

Mean Girls 2024 Movie: The Musical Version

In the original Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan portrayed Cady Heron, but the 2024 version introduces Angourie Rice in the lead role, with Renée Rapp reprising her Broadway character as Regina George.

This upcoming Mean Girls movie will infuse a musical twist into the beloved 2004 film, maintaining the essence of the original storyline. While the narrative remains consistent, a predominantly new cast injects fresh energy into the familiar plot alongside lively dance numbers.

The plot unfolds with Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) navigating her way through public school for the first time. As she embarks on this journey, she encounters the notorious Plastics – Regina George (Renée Rapp), Gretchen Weiners (Bebe Wood), and Karen Smith (Avantika Vandanapu) – who initiates her into the intricate dynamics of the girl world.

Tina Fey, the creative force behind both the original movie and the musical version, will return as Ms. Norbury, along with Tim Meadows reprising his role as Principal Duvall.

The film also promises a nostalgic reunion with cherished characters, including Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), Mrs. Heron (Jenna Fischer), Janice (Auli’i Cravalho), Damian (Jaquel Spivey), and Mrs. George (Busy Philipps), bringing them into the modern era.
