Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (aka Meghan Markle) and Prince Harry made their first royal appearance of the year on Monday in Birkenhead. It is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England, located on the River Mersey opposite the city of Liverpool.

The royal couple, who are expecting their first child together in a few months, paid a visit to Feeding Birkenhead. It is a coalition of churches, community groups, and other organizations working together to eliminate hunger in the town.

According to royal reporter Chris Ship of ITV News, “Meghan told one lady in the crowd that she is 6 months pregnant and another woman that her due date is around April.”

A nine-year-old little girl named Kitty Dudley had the opportunity to speak with the Duchess during the royal visit. “Meghan came up to me and asked me how old I was and where I went to school. I could see her bump and I asked if she was having a boy or a girl and she said, ‘We don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl, we are keeping it as a surprise,’“ Kitty told People.
