The lovely Michelle Obama hosted the Arthur Ashe Kids Day, which officially opened the 2013 US Open Tennis Championships, as part of the First Lady’s program to encourage children to take on more activities.

Her national campaign consists of a proactive approach towards promoting an active lifestyle and healthy eating amongst children.

The lawyer-slash-writer wore a top by her consistent favorite, Prabal Gurung, from whom she had recycled a dress to meet Prince Harry.

The First Lady paired her sunny sleeveless peplum top with a pair of white wide-legged pants.

She finished the look off with gray trainers – something which didn’t quite make sense to us given that this is a woman who is usually impeccably dressed (perhaps she had to change into it for an exhibition?).

The Prabal Gurung exposed binding printed peplum top goes right into our list of classy outfits. The yellow-tinged flower-and-leaf prints are perfect as a last hurrah for summer, injecting a little seriousness into the piece through its black piping and structured peplum.

The top has a matching skirt, which we think is totally something the First Lady would wear had it been a more formal event.

Definitely a piece for power-yet-casual dressing, we hope this top will become available at Prabal Gurung retailers such as Barneys and Farfetch.
