Penelope Cruz floated down the red carpet at the premiere of her new film, “Dolor y Gloria,” held at Capitol Cinema in Madrid, Spain, on Wednesday.

As fairy-tale-like her Chanel Fall 2018 Haute Couture white princess dress was, we found ourselves stifling a yawn. The gown’s embellished bodice is exquisite and the silk-chiffon skirt dreamy, but the whole look just felt too twee for the Spanish actress.

The 44-year-old “Loving Pablo” star even fastened her half-up, half-down hairstyle with an innocent white ribbon at the back of her head.

It doesn’t help that Penelope chose to complete her ensemble with her favorite silver Versace ankle-strap sandals. They are the same shoes she wore with the also snow-white Atelier Versace chainmail dress at the 2018 Goya Cinema Awards.

Now, we can’t avoid comparing this Chanel look to the fierce Versace getup, which we find far more suited to the brunette beauty.

We might’ve gotten too used to seeing Penelope Cruz in Versace that seeing her in Chanel seems boring in comparison.

The day before the premiere, Penelope also rocked Chanel at a photo call for the same “Dolor y Gloria” movie.

This time, she went for a more structured Chanel Resort 2019 double-breasted coat dress.

However, the Spanish Enchantress rolled up the sleeve cuffs and got the fabric all wrinkled, which made her tailored outfit look lousy.

She accessorized the glittery, midnight-blue design with a Chanel quilted handbag and black-satin pointy-toe pumps.

Penelope failed to excite yet again in Chanel at the 2019 Union De Actores Awards.

Mrs. Javier Bardem covered up in a Chanel Fall 2018 long bouclé coat, which looked far too heavy for the red carpet.

Considering that she had her toes peeping out of classic Christian Louboutin ‘Very Prive’ pumps, it must not have been that cold for her to keep on her coat on the red carpet that night.
