At the New York special screening of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power at Lincoln Center on August 23, 2022, the series’ female cast brought together a wide range of red carpet styles, from sculptural couture gowns to modern tailoring and metallic evening looks.

Standing between 5’0″ (152.4 cm) and 5’6¼” (168.3 cm), the cast approached red carpet dressing in noticeably different ways.

From Ema Horvath’s leg-lengthening mini dress and heels to Nazanin Boniadi’s metallic platforms and Morfydd Clark’s tailored separates, their footwear played an important role in balancing proportions as much as completing each look.

1. Ema Horvath Wears a Pamella Roland Bow Dress With Alexandre Birman Heels

Standing 5’0″ (152.4 cm) and wearing a US shoe size 7, Ema Horvath chose a silhouette that emphasized her proportions.

The actress, who plays Eärien, paired a cream strapless Pamella Roland mini dress with Alexandre Birman heels, allowing the short hemline and pointed footwear to create a longer leg line.

2. Sophia Nomvete Channels Princess Disa in a Marina Rinaldi Printed Caftan

Standing about 5’5″ (165.1 cm), Sophia Nomvete embraced dramatic volume rather than a body-conscious silhouette.

Her flowing black-and-white Marina Rinaldi printed caftan echoed the regal presence of Princess Disa while her sculptural crown-inspired hairstyle reinforced the character’s royal identity.

Sophia’s bold look was completed by a formal hairstyle resembling a crown atop her head. Nomvete’s role as the dwarven princess was groundbreaking, as the first-ever black dwarf to appear in the J.R.R. Tolkien stories.

3. Cynthia Addai-Robinson Pairs a Red Alexander McQueen Dress With Strappy Heels

Standing 5’6¼” (168.3 cm) and wearing a US shoe size 8.5, Addai-Robinson balanced the dramatic draping of her Alexander McQueen gown with a sleek updo and understated strappy heels that kept the focus on the sculptural silhouette.

4. Morfydd Clark Styles a Vivienne Westwood Corset With Black Satin Pumps

Standing 5’3¾” (161.9 cm) and wearing a US shoe size 6.5, Morfydd Clark skipped a traditional evening gown in favor of a tailored Vivienne Westwood corset and trousers.

Classic black satin pumps maintained the monochrome look while adding polish without competing with the structured separates.

Clark’s blonde hair fell over her shoulders in loose, messy curls.

The added height complemented the abbreviated silhouette while echoing the metallic detailing throughout the look.

Schiaparelli’s signature gilded eye motifs reflected the house’s long-running fascination with surrealist design, giving the metallic mini dress its sculptural character.

Boniadi kept her hair and makeup understated to let the intricate detailing stand out.

From Middle-earth Premieres to Standout Designer Heels

The cast’s New York screening looks continued a long red carpet tradition for Tolkien adaptations, where fantasy-world glamour is often grounded by sharply chosen footwear.

These related appearances highlight how stars from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have paired dramatic gowns, tailored separates, and dark evening looks with memorable designer shoes.
