Sydney Sweeney brought a dreamy, vintage feel to the red carpet at the Los Angeles screening of her new movie, Americana. While the film tells a dark and gritty Western crime story, her outfit felt more like a modern-day fairytale.

Sydney is known for her daring red carpet fashion choices, but for the LA premiere, she took a softer turn, channeling a playful, romantic vibe with a touch of old-school charm.

Inside Americana: Sydney Sweeney’s Role in a Gritty Crime-Western Drama

Americana, written and directed by Tony Tost, follows a group of people whose lives become tangled as they attempt to track down and get their hands on a rare Lakota Ghost Shirt that has ended up on the black market in a quiet South Dakota town. It mixes crime, drama, and suspense as it explores how far people will go for something precious and powerful. The ghost shirt is believed to be a spiritually significant artifact that protects its wearer from harm.

Sydney stars as Penny Jo Poplin, a shy waitress who finds herself caught in the middle of the chaos. She co-stars with Paul Walter Hauser as “Lefty” Ledbetter, a lovelorn military vet; Halsey as the mysterious fugitive Mandy Starr; Eric Dane as the dangerous criminal Dillon McIntosh; Zahn McClarnon as Ghost Eye; and Simon Rex as Roy Lee Dean, a shady antiques dealer.

Fairytale Couture: Sydney Stuns in a Danielle Frankel Corset Tulle Gown

Sydney Sweeney looked as though she’d stepped out of a modern fairytale in a soft, romantic gown by Danielle Frankel—an unexpected but striking contrast to the gritty tone of her new action-thriller. Eschewing the moody palettes often seen at such premieres, she opted for a buttery yellow hue that radiated warmth and softness. The delicate shade brought out the golden tones in her sun-kissed complexion, giving her an ethereal glow and ensuring all eyes stayed on her.

Her showstopping dress looked like it was plucked straight out of a high-fashion bridal editorial, which makes perfect sense, considering Danielle Frankel is famous for her modern approach to bridalwear. Her creations often blur the lines between wedding gown and couture piece, and Sydney’s gown was no exception.

The gown featured a strapless satin corset bodice that created a defined and structured silhouette. It boasted subtle boning that hugged Sydney’s torso so tightly, it looked like she might spill out at any moment, adding a sultry edge to the otherwise romantic design. A slightly curved sweetheart neckline framed her decolletage, softening the structure of the corset.

The waist was tightly cinched, emphasizing her figure before exploding into a voluminous skirt made of layered tulle. The material gave it a bold, structural shape like a modern tutu, adding volume and drama to the entire silhouette. The skirt brought a couture edge to the romantic design!

Vintage Glamour: Sydney’s Retro-Chic Headband & Soft Beauty

Adding to the retro flair, Sydney accessorized with a thick headband in a matching butter-yellow color, sweeping her long tresses away from her face. It perfectly mirrored the soft, creamy tone of her gown, tying her look together with a vintage polish.

Her blonde locks were styled by Glen Coco in soft waves, cascading over her shoulders, enhancing not just her Old Hollywood glow but also the romantic energy of her ensemble. Makeup artist Melissa Hernandez then kept Sweeney’s makeup simple, subtly sculpting her features with a touch of blush, soft eyeshadow, fluttery eyelashes, and natural pink lip.

As for accessories, I commend Sweeney and her stylist, Molly Dickson, for keeping them minimal, letting the gown’s intricate craftsmanship take center stage. She wore just a delicate tennis bracelet and a diamond ring from Effy Jewelry.

Pearl Perfection: Danielle Frankel’s Satin “Kennedy” Pumps Complete the Look

Sydney’s choice of shoes tied the entire look together with understated elegance. She wore the “Kennedy” pumps in soft pearl satin by Danielle Frankel, a celebrated New York–based bridal designer known for redefining modern romance. Founded in 2017 by Danielle Frankel Hirsch—formerly of Marchesa and Vera Wang—her namesake label blends traditional bridal elements with avant-garde tailoring, ethereal fabrics, and minimalist sophistication.

The “Kennedy” pumps, designed exclusively for Net-a-Porter, reflect Frankel’s signature aesthetic: timeless yet fashion-forward. Made in Italy, they feature a square toe and soft folds at the vamp, adding subtle texture without distracting from the gown.

Crafted in luminous pearl satin and finished with 4-inch heels, the pumps enhanced Sydney’s fairytale look while maintaining a refined, couture sensibility.
