Sarah Hyland, Lucy Fry, and Zoey Deutch were still establishing themselves as Hollywood’s next generation when they arrived for the Los Angeles premiere of Vampire Academy.

By the time the press tour reached Sydney, Australia, on February 20, 2014, the trio had solidified a collective red-carpet aesthetic: a mix of feminine silhouettes and adventurous footwear.

Set against the pink carpet, the trio revealed sharply defined style identities—but it was Lucy Fry’s statuesque presence that anchored the lineup, visibly towering over Sarah Hyland, who stands at 5’1″ (154.9 cm), and Zoey Deutch, who measures 5’3¼” (160.7 cm), creating a striking contrast that only amplified their individual looks.

Lucy Fry’s path to Vampire Academy wasn’t straightforward—after missing an initial callback, she secured the role with a self-taped audition.

Sarah Hyland also auditioned remotely via Skype while filming Bonnie & Clyde in Louisiana, reflecting the production’s unconventional casting process.

The 2014 film marked Fry’s feature debut and included an uncredited cameo from Anya Taylor-Joy. Despite early sequel discussions, the franchise ultimately did not continue.

At the Sydney premiere of Vampire Academy, the trio opted for girly dresses in gorgeous colors that made them look like sugary sweet confections.

Zoey contrasted her elegant dress with a sleek hairstyle and dramatic smoky eyes, adding a touch of edge to her look.

She completed the ensemble with pink-and-purple Sophia Webster slingback sandals, which added a playful, vibrant element to her outfit.

The then-19-year-old actress was about to make big waves in Hollywood. She had already gotten the stamp of approval from Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the iconic role of Buffy in Joss Whedon’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Sarah even shared a photo on Twitter showing her standing next to a life-size poster of Zoey holding a stake. She sent it to the young actress with a message that said, “Are you sure you know how to use that stake?”

2. Sarah Hyland: Temperley London Dress & Jimmy Choo Pumps

Sarah Hyland was all dolled up in a sleeveless pink dress from Temperley London’s Resort 2014 collection, which features floral appliqués on the hemline.

She styled her hair in a chic updo to show off her stunning earrings and flawless makeup. Dominic Sherwood and Sarah Hyland met on the set of Vampire Academy and dated for three years.

3. Lucy Fry: Geometric Dress & Pink Strappy Heels

Standing at 5’8″ (172.7 cm) with a US shoe size 9, Lucy Fry leaned into her statuesque frame in a monochrome dress defined by sharp, geometric Aztec lines, styling her hair in side-swept retro waves that amplified the look’s graphic precision.

She added a pop of color to her outfit with bold red lips and pink strappy heels.
