Throwback to October 2012: Vanessa Hudgens hit the SVA Theatre in New York City for the premiere of The Carrie Diaries, there to cheer on her boyfriend, Austin Butler—the new CW series’s soon-to-be love interest.

Nessa was in her usual boho chic style, in a bell-sleeved, belly-baring dress with a crochet detail down the front:

Looking back, the dress seemed about one or two sizes too large for Vanessa Hudgens, who stands just 5ft 1 (154.9 cm) tall and wears a US shoe size 7. The sleeves hung past her hands, the fabric gaped at the back, and the skirt looked ready to slip without the crochet front holding it together.

While she often gravitates toward relaxed, slouchy silhouettes, this particular choice would have shone with a more tailored fit. Even with her chic black ankle boots, the overall look came off a bit undone.

Her dress is this ‘Moonlight’ dress by For Love & Lemons, a Los Angeles-based fashion brand known for its feminine, romantic, and adventurous designs.
