In case you forgot that Hailee Steinfeld is still basically a kid, her shenanigans at the 2011 Oscars should remind you.
14-year-old Hailee wore a pair of nude satin peep-toe pumps from Ferragamo on the Oscars red carpet, but — in true teenage fashion — later changed into a pair of bright red Chuck Taylor sneakers.

Hailee Steinfeld was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mattie Ross in “True Grit” but she ultimately lost out to Melissa Leo.

But even if she didn’t win, she stole hearts and definitely made herself memorable with this cute little stunt.

By the way, Hailee co-designed her beaded pink dress with Marchesa, who made it just for her.

Kudos to the designers, given that she was able to wear her dress to an A-list Hollywood event AND pair it with Chucks. Hailee accessorized with Fred Leighton jewelry.

“It’s something I dreamed about my whole life,” Steinfeld told THR about her best supporting actress Oscar nomination. “It’s so amazing to finally be here.”

“I was in bed asleep (in her Los Angeles home) and I woke up to hear my parents screaming in the other room,” the home-schooled actress told USA Today about the moment her Oscar nomination was announced.
“They had the TV up really loud. I was in complete shock. I really didn’t know what to think. Am I dreaming? It’s crazy, it’s such a surreal feeling.”
