Okay so let’s try getting through this post without mentioning Lady Gaga shall we? Yes, Lady Gaga is responsible for making them “mainstream”, but let’s acknowledge the fact that designers have been making and fashionistas have been wearing this shoe style long before she became famous.
Now on with the shoe!
Lucy Hale won Choice Female Summer TV Star at the recent 2011 Teen Choice Awards but it’s her outfit that’s now making headlines.
She wore this masterfully cut sparkling mini dress from Turkish designer Cengiz Abazoğlu paired with heel-less Giuseppe Zanotti ankle strap peep toe platforms:

The dress is eye-catching, the shoes are also — if not more so — so you can see why Lucy Hale is competing with big winner Taylor Swift for news headlines.
You can say that Lucy Hale’s “suffering” while wearing these shoes has paid off big time for her!
We’ve noticed that lately, Giuseppe Zanotti has been designing more and more of his shoes with increasingly inward heels. We somehow knew that he was about to design a shoe with a heel like this but we didn’t think he’d go THIS extremely inward!
But unlike the Thierry Mugler and Noritaka Tatehana heel-less shoes, these Giuseppe Zanotti ones lean more toward sexy rather than just plain shocking.
Would you consider these Giuseppe Zanotti peep toe platforms actually wearable for heel-less shoes?
These aren’t available online yet but you can anticipate their arrival along with us. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are available at Neiman Marcus, Shopbop, Endless, Zappos and their discount sister site 6pm.
