Sneak Peek at the Shoes Displayed at the Met’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” Exhibit

Thanks to the press preview for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit, we get to check it out along with the A-list attendees at the 2013 Met Gala tonight.

Take a sneak peek at all the punk-themed shoes. We spot Vivienne Westwood boots, on-trend Versace sandal boots, and Doc Martens displayed right next to Louboutins, all spiked, studded, pierced, chained, scuffed, or graffiti-covered, of course!

We’ve also included below some of our favorite details in the exhibit, such as the spray-painted tulle skirt of an Alexander McQueen dress and a Maison Martin Margiela jacket constructed out of strings of pearls.

Use this post to prep yourself for our soon-to-come compilation of the gowns and shoes at tonight’s 2013 Met Gala. As the gala is dubbed as the “Oscars of Fashion,” expect that post to be nothing but all sorts of awesome.

The “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit showcases how deeply punk is ingrained in fashion and how it has inspired legendary designers, such as Chanel, John Galliano, Ricardo Tisci, and Dolce & Gabbana, among many others. It will run at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from May 9 to August 14.

Will you be checking it out?
