The best of the best in the country music scene gathered together at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 5 for the 2013 CMT Music Awards.
While the winners of the night (including Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Lady Antebellum) did not surprise us anymore, other fashion choices at the event were rather unexpected. Unlike last year, where many dressed in sparkly and colorful frocks and gowns, this year’s red carpet (or purple/black, rather) saw a lot of classic and pastel-colored outfits. Nevertheless, there were still some who stood out; most importantly, we’ve seen a number of interesting heels! See them below:
1. Nicole Kidman in Dior Fall 2013 Heels
To show support for her husband, Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman was on hand at the event dressed in head-to-toe Dior. Although simple, her classic LBD looked great on her. Clearly, this was one of the most elegant look that night. Simple but luxurious jewelry completed Nicole’s ensemble. Now, while the dress is a little plain and classic, at least her heels added some modern edge to her appeal.
The Dior pumps are made of white snakeskin, and they feature thin asymmetrical straps in black. Aside from these, these pumps also have modern sculptured heels (also called heel-less or reversed), which obviously made them eye-catching.
They’re from the fall 2013 collection, which means we still have to wait for quite some time to get our hands on them!

2. AnnaSophia Robb in B Brian Atwood “Loreto” Sandals
It looked like AnnaSophia Robb was into her Carrie Bradshaw character when she stepped out to present for the CMT awards. She kept everything cute and sexy in a shimmering mini dress from Georges Chakra spring 2012 collection. It’s a pink lace dress with a halter neck and an open back. The 19-year-old sure did a great job in pairing this dress with sparkling heels by B Brian Atwood.
The sandals were equally gorgeous in pink satin with tricolor crystal-embellished straps in a V shape. Completing the sandals are sexy t-straps, back zipper fastening, and acrylic heels that measure about 4.75 inches.

3. Lisa Marie Presley in Marni Sandals
Clearly, it was a “country” event and not a Gothic party of some sort. Although it’s not mandatory to dress like a country girl, I personally wished Lisa Marie Presley donned something else. If she wants to wear black, which we usually see on her, she should’ve opted for an LBD instead and put away that fedora. The only thing I like here are her sandals, which are by Marni. I like them for their unique retro-meets-edgy design.
These sandals carry a lot of elements. They feature the brand’s popular black-and-white ivy pattern stitched on the vamps and wide heel straps. These sandals also have dainty ankle straps in metallic gold, which complemented their unique scalloped platforms. The heels take a scalloped silhouette as well.

We couldn’t find these heels online, but a photo of these sandals was posted at fabuloussoles last year.
4. Lauren Alaina in B Brian Atwood “Labrea” Sandals
Lauren Alaina chose a sexy colorblock look as she wore a skin-revealing Charlotte Ronson dress in a combination of light blue, navy, and white. She paired it with sleek and sexy B Brian Atwood stilettos called “Labrea.”
We seldom see sandals like these on the red carpet these days because most celebrities are now opting for the caged, gladiator look. Still, this pair managed to capture our attention. The thin straps in snakeskin appear like cords, and the asymmetrical straps added a sexier look. Those and the straps across the toes are in pink, while the side and ankle straps are in blue. Silver metallic insoles and 4.5-inch heels complete these striking sandals.

5. Sheryl Crow in Yves Saint Laurent “Tribute” Sandals
Sheryl Crow probably wanted to channel a goddess look in her gold-and-white ensemble; however, I don’t think she achieved it. The sexy dress was rather unflattering on her. Moreover, she should’ve just worn one accessory — either keep the earrings and ditch the necklace or the other way around. Her gold clutch was elegant enough though. And although flat sandals could have completed the goddess look, her metallic gold “Tribute” platforms by YSL still managed to add luxe anyway.
The sandals feature wide straps that are looped over the vamps. They also feature t-straps, halter overlap straps at the sides, and adjustable ankle straps. These sandals are atop 1-inch beveled platforms and 5 1/2-inch covered heels.
