Back in September 2017, Rebecca Hall stepped onto the red carpet at the New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala, where she towered over fellow attendees Rebecca Krohn, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Fernando Garcia in gleaming silver sandals that highlighted her elegant feet and added a glamorous finishing touch to her monochrome look.

Monse Elegance Meets a Personal Touch: Rebecca Hall’s Metallic Heels and Hamlet-Inspired Tattoo

She styled her metallic heels with a white Monse Resort 2018 dress and a matching Lee Savage ‘The Stack’ clutch. The small tattoo on her ankle features an inscription in her own handwriting that reads, “This above all,” a fragment of a line from “Hamlet,” spoken by Polonius, the pedantic adviser to the King, to his son, Laertes.

“It’s a useful reminder for me for a lot of reasons,” Hall told The New Yorker. Since the ink has blurred, she is considering having it removed and redone.

“Tattoos seem to be a good exercise in living with regret,” she said. “But I love them, actually. I love the regret factor, too.”

As we look further back at her red-carpet history, Rebecca’s style took a darker turn two years earlier.

Rebecca Hall’s Underwhelming Prada Look at The Gift Premiere in 2015

In July 2015, the British actress failed to impress us while promoting The Gift, which had received highly positive reviews from critics.

Prada Heels Help Rebecca Hall Stand Taller Than Her Co-Stars

Rebecca Hall, who stands 5ft 9 ½ (176.5 cm) tall and wears a US shoe size 9, was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Jason Bateman and Joel Edgerton (both 5ft 10 ¾ / 179.7 cm).

Thanks to her Prada heels, Hall appeared taller than them, proving how the right pair of stilettos can subtly elevate a look—literally and stylistically.

While she wore a head-to-toe Prada number, Jason opted for a more casual look, wearing an unbuttoned, tie-less suit with a crisp white shirt underneath and a pair of brown leather oxfords.

Joel, who penned, directed, and co-produced the movie, was dapper in an Eidos Napoli suit paired with Johnston & Murphy chukka boots.

For the occasion, the Transcendence star wore a loose, black, crystal-embellished top with thin spaghetti straps by Prada, paired with a pair of black pants. While her outfit was classy enough, she unfortunately went a bit overboard with the accessories department.

A simple pair of stud earrings could have been perfect, but Rebecca opted instead for a pair of large, heavy-looking crystal-embellished drop earrings.

She also carried a black bejeweled clutch and finished off her look with glittery Prada heels. Her smoky eye makeup and slick side-swept pixie didn’t really do anything to tame the overly vampy look, either.

Rebecca’s Prada sandals are crafted from suede and feature metallic glitter. They feature crisscross front straps, open toes, adjustable ankle straps, and about 3.75-inch self-covered chunky heels.
