Rockwell Lloyd Liu, Lucy Liu’s son brought into the world via gestational carrier on August 27, 2015, joined his mother for her Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremony in Hollywood in May 2019. The name of his father is not known.

“I was on location and Rockwell was the name of a store. At the time, I remember thinking, ‘That’s a really great name,’ and I kept it in the back of my mind,” Liu told Today in July 2022 about the meaning behind her son’s name.
“I know a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, that’s a surname.’ But I think sometimes surnames are stronger than first names.”

“When he was 4, he corrected somebody. He said, ‘My name is Rockwell,’” she added about her son Rockwell Lloyd Liu, who turned seven on August 27, 2022. “But I’m sure by the time he’s in high school, people will be calling him all kinds of names.”
In an interview with CBS News, she explained why she decided to support the commodification of the womb, which treats the process of pregnancy and birth as a transaction rather than a natural and intimate experience.

“I didn’t really think about it at all,” she explained. “I just went ahead and did it … I didn’t realize there was criticism until after I sent out the information that I had my baby through a gestational carrier and my friends said, ‘Don’t listen to what some people are saying.’ I didn’t realize people were saying anything negative!”
She also talked about her decision to choose assisted reproduction in an interview with People.
“It just seemed like the right option for me because I was working and I didn’t know when I was going to be able to stop,” Liu said about her decision to pay for gestational surrogacy. “I decided that was probably the best solution for me, and it turned out to be great.”
“I didn’t realize how quickly babies progress,” she added. “Very basic things that you just take for granted. They’re just this little lump of flesh, and then all the sudden they’re turning around, they’re observing you and they’re smiling and they’re interacting. It’s a magical experience.”

Wearing a one-shoulder floral-print silk-blend maxi dress from Peter Pilotto’s Spring 2019 collection, she was joined by Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Demi Moore, Rana Ghadban, Rhea Perlman, and American politician Mitch O’Farrell.

By January 2016, newly-minted mother Lucy Liu had spent several years working on the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise. A few months earlier, she welcomed a son, Rockwell, into the world.

The Elementary star has previously made it clear she doesn’t need a husband.

Lucy wore a gorgeous black lace dress with a layered ruffle skirt by Self-Portrait, accessorized with a red clutch.

The actress debuted the “Isabella” Mary Jane pumps from Neil J. Rodgers’ most recent collection.

Lucy was asked about how much fun she had doing the third installment of the well-loved franchise. The actress said that just knowing Rockwell would eventually see the film made it more fun to make.

Three months after being honored with the 2,662nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Lucy Liu joined her blue-eyed co-star Alexandra Daddario at the premiere of their new series, Why Women Kill, held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, California.

Showing off her feet in black platform sandals by Aldo Shoes, Lucy Liu flaunted her long legs in a look from Alexandre Vauthier’s Spring 2019 Haute Couture Collection.
