In January 2016, Derek Zoolander was back with the lovely Penélope Cruz as his leading lady.
But, there was already trouble in paradise. Penelope uploaded a series of photos to her Instagram regarding something Derek did in Paris that she wasn’t quite happy about.

Not a real person, the name “Derek Zoolander” was invented by UCLA Film School graduate Russell Bates while he was editing short films made for the VH1 Fashion Awards television specials in 1996 and 1997.
Derek Zoolander was inspired by the Dutch model Mark Vanderloo and former American Calvin Klein model Johnny Zander.

In a 2016 interview, Ben Stiller told Esquire how Saturday Night Live writer Drake Sather created the character Derek Zoolander.
“Derek came out of Drake saying, ‘Hey, I want you to be a male model in this little sketch that we’re doing.’ And I go, ‘Well, that’s ridiculous.’ And he says, ‘Yeah, that’s why it’ll be funny. It’s you doing it.'”
Penélope Cruz stars as Valentina Valencia, Derek Zoolander’s (Ben Stiller) love interest and 2nd wife in Zoolander 2, the stand-alone sequel and the second and final installment to the 2001 film Zoolander.

Before the digital finger-wagging, Penelope attended a photocall in Madrid, Spain, for her directorial debut film “Soy Uno Entre Cien Mil.”

Penélope arrived at the photocall in a Bohemian-inspired dress from Etro’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

Instead of going for the designer’s lovely lace-up heels, however, the actress opted for a more masculine pair of platform ankle boots.

So, what was it that upset the stunning Ms. Cruz?
