Two women stood out at the ELLE Women festivities in Los Angeles, not only because they’re visually stunning but also because they sported colors deemed out-of-the-ordinary for a cold autumn day.
Carey Mulligan and Miranda Kerr opted to wear powder blue pantsuits for the 2015 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards. This calls for a comparison. Who do you think looked best in her baby blue attire?

The 32-year-old model bared her toned stomach in a baby blue bandeau top with a belt embellishment. She balanced the show of flesh by covering up in a blazer and matching pants from the Calvin Klein Collection.

She accessorized with a pair of similarly hued Christian Louboutin “Dorissima” pumps, a Christian Louboutin “Fiocco” box clutch, a Swarovski stone mini bangle, and a Swarovski duo pendant wing necklace.

Carey was decently covered up, with only a hint of cleavage to give her outfit some sass. She accessorized with a pair of grey d’Orsay pumps.

We have mixed feelings about both looks. The bandeau top Miranda Kerr teamed up with her pants suit seemed ill-fitting and detracted from the classy appeal of the suit. We would have preferred a more covered-up finish to this look.
Carey’s outfit is definitely a big change from her usual monotonous outfits, and we laud her for making a different sartorial decision. This outfit, though, while not terrible, seems a little unpolished. Perhaps it’s because of her blazer’s awkwardly rolled-up sleeves or washed-out makeup. We would have liked this better with a bolder lip color to get rid of some of the paleness of her face.
