Just one year after leaving Oscar Tiye, Amina Muaddi made a triumphant return to the world of shoes with her debut namesake collection—a moment that feels all the more special to look back on now, given how quickly she rose to icon status.
Having created every collection for the Italian high-end shoe brand since co-founding it in 2013, she departed Oscar Tiye after completing the Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. However, she still designed footwear for French couturier Alexandre Vauthier while preparing to step into her own spotlight.
The talented fashion designer, who lived in Jordan and Romania before moving to Italy, was fascinated by shoes from a young age, often walking around the house in her mother’s heels as a child. Drawing inspiration from her Middle Eastern heritage and close female friends, such as Attico co-founders Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, Muaddi brought a fresh perspective to luxury footwear that would soon captivate celebrities, including Rihanna and Kendall Jenner.
