“Well, he’s just the best person I’ve ever met in my whole life,” she told Entertainment Tonight about accepting his engagement proposal. “It was a very, very easy decision.”
After dating director Darren Aronofsky, whom she met while working on the 2017 film Mother!, Jennifer Lawrence began dating art gallery director Cooke Maroney in June 2018. Lawrence and Aronofsky ended their relationship in November 2017.

Cooke, the director of New York City’s Gladstone Art Gallery, met Jennifer through her best friend, Laura Simpson. His parents, James Maroney and Suki Fredericks, both have ties to the art world, with his father formerly working as an art dealer in Manhattan.
For her movie premiere, J. Law wore a Christian Dior Resort 2020 dress with a black leather belt, a dangling silver Niwaka Yaegasumi necklace, and a sparkling bracelet.

She also showed off her emerald-cut $100K diamond engagement ring by NYC jeweler Alison Lou.

Her ensemble was completed with black satin Georgina sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti that could not be seen due to the length of her gown.
