William Stewart, an army veteran who has married and divorced Tiffany Haddish twice, sued his ex-wife and publishing company Simon & Schuster in 2018 over a chapter in her memoir “The Last Black Unicorn” (available on Amazon) titled “The Ex-Husband.”

The Allegations and Stewart’s Response
While William Stewart is never specified by name, the chapter includes allegations of abuse and stalking. The “Girls Trip” breakout star has never been married to anyone else.
According to The Blast, a Texas judge has set a trial date of April 20, 2020, for the case. Stewart alleges in his suit that he sent Haddish and Simon & Schuster multiple letters to resolve the “harmful and defamatory” assertions in the chapter before filing the suit.

Stewart, a decorated U.S. Army veteran, claims that Haddish replied “be patient your blessings are coming” and “start to think positive so positive things can come your way. Because your blessings are waiting on you.”
He is reportedly seeking damages over $1 million due to claims of libel, slander, and defamation.
Tiffany Haddish’s Public Appearance Amidst Legal Battle
Earlier this week, Tiffany Haddish attended the Like A Boss world premiere screening at SVA Theater in New York City.

She styled a low-cut black blouse by Sergio Hudson with a black pencil skirt from the same designer and showed off her pretty feet in Giuseppe Zanotti’s Jamila sandals.
