When I think of Kelis, I think of her first single, Milkshake. I’ve forgotten the year when the song came out, but I still remember the beat and the outfit she wore in the video.

It was a far cry from the look she pulled in London a few days ago when the singer performed at Victoria Park during Day 3 of the Lovebox Festival.

Kelis Rogers was quite a spectacle in her bright pink floor-length dress and large feathery cape.

What an exciting outfit. Now, this is one of those rare situations where the add-on (or, more specifically, the feathered cape) was totally unnecessary.

A scarf, cape, wrap, or kimono is an excellent way to dress up a look. But in Kelis’ case, it was pure overkill. Feel free to give us a violent reaction if you disagree.

If she wanted a topper with her bright pink dress, a simple one in a solid hue or something more classic and not nearly as flashy would have been more appropriate. A good example would be a blue version of the Saint Laurent cape Angelina Jolie wore last April.
