Kim, the older and more popular sister, naturally got to wear the velvet dress out in public first. She topped it with a matching velvet sleeveless coat featuring thick bordered edges that contrasted with the dress’s soft layered ruffles. Black stockings and Gianvito Rossi mesh-and-suede pumps completed her all-black look.
This was also the day Kim debuted her new platinum blonde hair, so her exposure in this dress was even more off the charts.

Apparently not fazed by the big style shadows her older sister cast, Kendall Jenner wore the very same velvet dress that evening. The It model embodied more of the Balmain aesthetic with her slicked-back ponytail, bare legs, and Balmain “Hopi” lace-up sandals.

Unlike Kim, Kendall didn’t feel the need to add any more accessories and only put a wide gold-buckle belt around her waist.
Meanwhile, Kim changed out of the velvet dress into an outrageously fringed gold-and-black Balmain ensemble for that night.
