At the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival’s Jury Press Conference in Morocco, Anya Taylor-Joy and Jenna Ortega turned heads with their coordinated ensembles. Dressed in all-black, both stars showcased their individual styles while still appearing perfectly in sync on the red carpet.

Interestingly, this wasn’t a one-off moment; just the day before, the two made a striking impression in equally stunning black looks at the festival’s opening ceremony!

Let’s see who made the stronger style statement!

Anya Taylor-Joy Stuns in Archival Dior Crochet Dress and Minimalist Aquazzura “Olie” Sandals

Anya Taylor-Joy’s look at the Marrakech International Film Festival instantly caught my attention. She arrived at the Jury Press Conference in an archival Christian Dior dress that perfectly captured the charm of early 2000s fashion. It was flirty yet elegant, and Anya carried it with such ease and confidence that it made the whole look feel fresh and effortless.

The black knit crochet dress, designed by John Galliano for Dior’s Spring/Summer 2001 collection, had this beautiful mix of softness and edge. Up close, the fabric looked virtually liquid, clinging to her figure effortlessly. The cowl neckline gave it a gentle drape, while the low back—held up by slim shoulder straps—added sensuality.

I couldn’t take my eyes off the diamond-patterned crochet detailing across the bodice and skirt, which added texture and dimension, making the dress feel intricate. The asymmetrical high-low skirt was also stunning. It had a ruffled hem that shifted with every step, giving her walk a kind of fluttery movement.

Timeless Tiffany & Co. Details and Sleek Aquazzura “Olie” Sandals

Anya kept her accessories clean and timeless, allowing the dress to remain the focus. Her Tiffany & Co. pieces, which included the Inside-Out diamond hoops and the Tiffany & Co. x Schlumberger Sixteen Stone ring, added just the right amount of shine to the look.

I loved her hair, styled half-up, half-down, accented with a black ribbon that softened the look and added a sweet, romantic contrast to the dress’s sultriness. Her rosy blush and lipstick gave her that fresh pop of color, brightening her whole look.

Completing her ensemble were her favorite Aquazzura “Olie” sandals from the luxury Italian footwear brand. Made from glossy black patent leather, they had a barely-there silhouette that felt light and modern.

The thin toe strap and delicate ankle strap didn’t compete with the dress’s complexity; instead, they mirrored its fluidity, keeping the entire look sleek. The slim stiletto heels added height and elegance, tying everything together in an effortless yet refined way.

Jenna Ortega Brings Edgy Elegance in a Lace Slip Dress, Tailored Blazer & Chunky Combat Boots

Jenna Ortega’s look at the Marrakech International Film Festival Jury Press Conference made me pause and do a double-take—it was cool and true to her style. As the youngest member of the festival jury, she clearly wasn’t afraid to take risks.

Jenna wore a mix of a sultry black slip dress and rugged combat boots, which isn’t a combination everyone gravitates toward, but on Jenna, it just worked. The contrast gave her whole look a quiet boldness!

Her black slip dress featured a lingerie-inspired lace bodice that dipped into a daring V-neckline, bringing a delicate, feminine touch, while the satin skirt below draped beautifully with a soft sheen. I loved how the fabric moved with her every step, giving the whole look a glossy, fluid, and effortless feel.

To balance the dress’s softness, Ortega layered a simple black blazer. It added a bit of modesty and structure, giving the slip dress a more refined, tailored frame.

Understated Accessories and Rugged Combat Boots for an Edgy Finish

Jenna kept her accessories pared back, wearing only a pair of earrings. No necklace, no statement pieces—and honestly, it felt right. The minimal styling made the outfit even cooler, allowing the textures and shapes of her ensemble to take center stage.

Her cherry cola hair was worn down in soft waves, framing her face, while her makeup leaned darker, with bold mascara, liner, rosy blush, and a matching lip that reminded me of her Wednesday-era glam.

The combat boots were a standout element of her look. Made from smooth black leather, they featured the classic combat boots DNA, complete with lace-up fronts, sturdy eyelets, and an interior side zip. The thick lug soles and short heels made them look more durable.

Her boots brought a tough, confident edge that contrasted beautifully with the softness of her slip dress, striking a bold, effortless balance that felt true to Jenna’s style.

Anya Taylor-Joy Embraces Gothic Romance in a Strapless Black Dior Gown & Classic Black Evening Heels

At the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival opening ceremony, Anya Taylor-Joy embraced a gothic-romantic vibe in an iteration of a dress from the Dior Spring 2026 collection, Jonathan Anderson’s debut for the house.

The original runway version appeared in cream, with slim spaghetti straps and a bubble midi hem. However, Anya’s version reimagined the silhouette in black, with a clean strapless neckline and a longer, more refined skirt.

The dress featured a loose, softly structured strapless bodice created from tiered, gathered pleats that gave the upper half a relaxed drape. This shifted into a bubble-style tier at the hips, adding a bit of volume without overwhelming Anya’s frame.

On each side, clusters of white floral appliqués provided a crisp contrast to the black fabric, finished with long black ribbons that hung down for a chic decorative touch. The skirt extended to the floor and pooled slightly behind her, making it impossible to see what shoes she was wearing.

Classic Black Evening Heels and Luxe Tiffany & Co. Accents

But given the gown’s style, I’m assuming she wore a pair of understated black stilettos, high enough to add height and balance the length of the skirt, complete with a pointed or open toe to keep the look clean and seamless.

Anya often leans toward streamlined heels that don’t compete with her dresses, so a classic pump in satin or patent leather sandals feels like the most fitting option.

As Tiffany & Co.’s global ambassador, Taylor-Joy completed the look with jewelry from the brand. Around her neck, she wore the $83,000 platinum Bird on a Rock Wings pavé necklace, shaped like a feather and set with 7.56 carats of diamonds. She paired it with the $55,000 Bird on a Rock Wings Wide ring and an additional Tiffany & Co. Buds engagement-style platinum ring.

Anya’s hair was worn sleek and straight, falling past her shoulders, while her makeup added color, featuring a bold red lip for contrast and soft, rosy blush to warm her complexion.

Jenna Ortega Channels Wednesday Energy in a Sculptural Bevza Gown & Roker “Highbury” Platform Boots

Jenna Ortega channeled the darker, moodier edge she’s become known for at the opening ceremony of this year’s Marrakech International Film Festival. And honestly, this look might be my favorite of her recent black-dress streak. It’s elegant, architectural, and unmistakably Jenna!

I was immediately drawn to the clean and sculptural look of her dress. She wore a black Bevza gown from the brand’s Spring 2026 collection, perfectly capturing the Ukrainian label’s modern, quiet approach to eveningwear, often blending minimalism with subtle architectural lines.

It seemed simple at first glance, but the details made it a standout. The bodice featured a satin panel down the center, cut into a sleek V-neckline. It also had folded lapels that gave the dress a tailored, suit-like quality, while the halter strap had this crisp, sculpted origami-like shape that gave the top a sharp, modern finish.

What caught my eye was the waist. A thick satin band cinched the silhouette, then flared outward into a structured, peplum-style shape created by hidden padding underneath. It gave the gown a sculptural look before falling straight into a long, floor-skimming skirt.

Azza Fahmy Jewels and Bold, Sculptural Roker “Highbury” Platform Boots

Ortega added a subtle touch of sparkle with pieces from Egyptian jewelry designer Azza Fahmy. She wore the Tribal Calligraphy Choker in 18k gold, engraved with a well-known verse by Egyptian poet Abdul-Rahman El-Abnudi. Her $1,000 Guardian Snake Earrings, crafted in 18k gold and sterling silver, were hand-etched to show the detailed scaling of the snake’s body, complete with a sculpted head and lapis gemstone eyes. She finished the look with an amethyst Flower Garden ring from the same label, which tied all the pieces together beautifully.

She paired these sparkles with gothic-inspired makeup, featuring softly contoured cheeks, smoky eyeshadow, eyeliner, and nude lips, keeping the look balanced. Her hair was loose, with tousled waves, giving the ensemble a touch of effortless cool.

Though her skirt concealed them on the carpet, Jenna grounded her look with Roker’s daring “Highbury” boots—a bold, sculptural choice that perfectly echoed the architectural lines of her dress. Handcrafted in East London from smooth Italian leather, the boots feature striking 3.9-inch platforms and dramatic 7.5-inch angled block heels, giving her 4’11½” frame a powerful lift.

What makes the pairing even more compelling is how strongly it reflects Roker’s identity. The London-based label—founded by former scientist–turned–shoemaker Alim Latif—has become one of Britain’s most intriguing contemporary footwear voices.

Rooted in classic English shoemaking but driven by a gender-fluid, boundary-pushing design philosophy, Roker is known for combining traditional craftsmanship with eccentric, modern energy. The “Highbury” boots embody that spirit perfectly, delivering a fearless silhouette that feels unmistakably Jenna.
