Matthieu Blazy presented his second couture show for Chanel during Paris Fashion Week, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. For the Haute Couture collection, Chanel’s creative director leaned into a dreamlike world inspired by fairy tales, with looks and out-of-this-world shoes that nodded to the pages of classic children’s storybooks.
References to Puss in Boots, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Beanstalk, and other children’s stories came through in whimsical silhouettes, dreamy palettes, rich textures, and romantic details, giving the runway a charming storybook feel.

The Chanel front row was just as captivating as the collection itself. Lupita Nyong’o, Teyana Taylor, and Sarah Pidgeon were among the stars who arrived in standout Chanel looks, each bringing a different take on the house’s signature elegance.

Let’s take a closer look at their Chanel front-row style.
Lupita Nyong’o Wears Two-Tone Chanel Pumps with a Sequined Haute Couture Dress
Lupita Nyong’o may be busy with The Odyssey press tour, but she still made time for the Chanel Paris Fashion Week show, and I’m glad she did. She brought real front-row star power in an elegant, textured avant-garde Chanel look.
Her heels were the classic two-tone Chanel Fall 2026 pumps in black suede with white toe caps, adding a polished finish to the heavily embellished dress.
The pumps had a sleek, modern shape with squared toes and geometric rectangular cutouts on the outer sides, giving them clean lines and a slightly architectural feel. They were set on flared block heels, which gave her height while still looking more comfortable and practical than a thin stiletto.

Lupita paired the pumps with a much more dramatic dress from the same Chanel collection. The sleeveless, ankle-length column silhouette was modest and refined, but the dense layers of multi-sized paillettes and sequins made it instantly striking. The black and cream embellishments overlapped like scales, creating a reptile-like texture from the bodice down to the hem, with tiny red accents scattered throughout for a subtle pop of color.
Toward the bottom, the paillettes shifted from cream to black, creating a fringed effect that added movement as the hem skimmed just above her shoes. I particularly liked the voluminous ruff-style neckline, decorated with nude and red sequins, which added a theatrical, floral burst around her collarbone.
Lupita kept the rest simple with gold Chanel hoop earrings, a black Chanel clutch, and cat-eye sunglasses for a cool, polished finish.

Teyana Taylor Elevates the Canadian Tuxedo with Blue Sequined Chanel Pumps
Teyana Taylor gave the Canadian tuxedo a full Chanel couture upgrade, and I loved how committed she was to the head-to-toe blue sequin look. It had that effortless cool-girl attitude, but with enough shine and polish to make it front-row ready.
Her Chanel pumps were not your ordinary two-tone heels. They were covered in shimmering blue sequins, mixing lighter and deeper blue shades that matched her outfit so well.
The pointed toes peeked out from under the hem of her pants, while the block heels kept things relaxed and wearable. I liked how the shoes blended into the outfit, making the whole look feel seamless and perfectly coordinated.

Teyana paired her sequined pumps with a matching double-denim look that seemed classic from afar, but the allover baby-blue sequins made it so much more striking up close. The oversized button-down utility jacket had flap chest pockets, a collar, and gold-tone buttons, keeping that casual denim-jacket shape. She styled it with matching straight-leg pants covered in the same baby-blue sequins, turning a simple double-denim outfit into a runway-ready look.
Underneath, Taylor wore a white ribbed tank top, which helped balance all the sparkle and made the outfit feel more relaxed.
She completed the look with clear-rimmed white cat-eye sunglasses and a matching baby blue sequined flap bag with a gold chain strap, keeping the styling sleek and cool.

Sarah Pidgeon Styles Two-Tone Chanel Slingback Pumps with an Artful Haute Couture Dress
Sarah Pidgeon embraced understated Chanel elegance with a look that balanced crisp monochrome tailoring and artistic couture details. The clean black-and-white palette felt effortlessly sophisticated, while the flowing silhouette and graphic accents gave the ensemble the relaxed glamour of the French Riviera.
Anchoring the look were Chanel’s signature two-tone slingback pumps from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Crafted from supple white lambskin with glossy black patent cap toes, the classic design was refreshed with a wider toe cap that lent the silhouette a sharper, more contemporary feel.
Slim slingback straps preserved the timeless appeal of the house’s iconic pumps, while sculptural 3.5-inch flared block heels added both height and modern architectural elegance.

Sarah paired the pumps with a Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture dress that had a very geometric, artful look. The top featured a sleek white sleeveless column silhouette, layered with an integrated black scarf-like bib that draped into a deep cowl neckline before tapering into a triangular point at the center. It gave the simple white bodice a sharper, more graphic finish.
Below, the pleated drop-waist maxi skirt brought the drama, featuring an abstract painterly print in black, cream, and bright red. A black belt worn low on the hips separated the bodice from the skirt, though I think the placement looked a little awkward. Still, I liked the relaxed fit and breezy movement here.
Sarah finished her look with Chanel Coco Crush rings and earrings, a Première Galon watch, and rectangular Chanel sunglasses for extra star power.
