In 2018, she made history as the first South Sudanese model and only the second black model after Naomi Campbell to open a Prada show.

A year later, in 2019, she was already rubbing elbows with high-profile stars at the Met Gala.

The 25-year-old icon emerged as one of the best-dressed stars at the recent Met Gala, dubbed the Oscars of Fashion.

Her strapless mini dress featured hand-embroidered oxidized gold and silver dégradé sequin paillettes, with long bugle bead fringes dripping from the structured pannier-style skirt that arched out at the hips.

The breathtaking design featured a sheer tulle mermaid skirt with a long train that perfectly complemented Anok Yai’s figure.

She wore coordinating sheer opera gloves and a Piers Atkinson embellished mask to complete the look, which cleverly echoed Chanel’s iconic quilted pattern.

Under Carlos Nazario’s expert styling, Anok gave the already gleaming look additional sparkles with crystal drop earrings and a selection of diamond rings. She then boosted her 5’10” height with minimalist black heels to let her dress take center stage.

Anok Yai set the internet ablaze not just with her striking jellyfish dress but also with her glowing skin, nourished using Lancôme products.

Celebrity makeup artist Sheika Daley created Yai’s beauty look, finished with glossy lipstick, while hairstylist Ursula Stephen styled her raven hair in loose waves with blunt bangs.
