At the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on February 15, 2016, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Bella Hadid arrived in one of her earliest major red-carpet fashion moments.

The model wore a black, embellished Alexandre Vauthier gown paired with Bvlgari jewelry and Alexander Wang “Antonia” sandals, creating a sleek, monochromatic look that reflected the era’s minimalist eveningwear trends.

Although the gown and heels drew plenty of attention on the red carpet, much of the media coverage at the time focused on Bella’s relationship with The Weeknd, who won two Grammy Awards that evening.

“It was a big night for him,” she told Glamour about attending the event with her then-boyfriend. “He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend, I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy.”

Hadid’s Alexander Wang “Antonia” sandals were a natural match for the gown’s dramatic silhouette.

With their slim toe strap, padded wraparound ankle strap, and sleek stiletto heel, they delivered the same leg-lengthening effect that made Stuart Weitzman’s Nudist sandals a red-carpet favorite throughout the mid-2010s.

Where the Nudist was known for understated versatility, the Antonia offered a slightly cooler, more fashion-forward edge.

Released during Alexander Wang’s peak influence, the minimalist design became a celebrity favorite and was also worn by Reese Witherspoon, Kim Kardashian, Amy Schumer, and Zoë Kravitz, who embraced its blend of minimalist glamour and downtown attitude.

Although the Antonia has long since disappeared from Alexander Wang’s main retail lineup, it remains one of the designer’s most recognizable sandal designs.

In 2026, shoppers can still find pre-owned pairs on platforms such as Farfetch alongside newer Alexander Wang styles, including the Julie, Jenna, and Bianca sandals that reflect the brand’s current footwear direction.

Depending on condition, color, and included packaging, resale prices for the Antonia typically range from about $100 to $300. While demand is more niche than for heritage luxury icons, the style retains steady appeal among shoppers drawn to the sleek, minimalist aesthetic that helped define mid-2010s fashion.

The couple briefly split later in 2016, but one of the year’s most memorable fashion-show moments came when The Weeknd performed during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris while Bella walked the runway.
