When “Scandal” first aired in 2012, Bellamy Young wasn’t sure if her character — then-First Lady Mellie Grant — would stick around. As it turns out, Mellie wasn’t the only concerned cast mate. The show was actually in danger of getting canceled. But, fast forward to a full six seasons later in 2017, “Scandal” is one of the highest rating shows on ABC. Quite the change.
Bellamy celebrated 100 episodes at the PaleyFest in Los Angeles by conducting a sit-down interview with the rest of the cast of “Scandal.”

Bellamy shrugged out of her bright and bulky First Lady costumes for a more ethereal look. The actress chose a flowy Greek-inspired halter dress by Maria Lucia Hohan, which showed off a bit of skin with a huge cutout at the back.
The actress made her look shine with jewelry from Sylva & Cie, Randall Scott Fine Jewelry and Ileana Makri before finishing the ensemble with an Emm Kuo clutch and a pair of Stuart Weitzman “Legwrap” sandals in nude suede.

We weren’t too impressed with Bellamy’s attempt to break out of her First Lady wardrobe. We like the concept behind the look, but the color of the dress doesn’t flatter her skin tone, and the length is awkward. It’s like looking at a cheap infinity dress. We would have appreciated a minimalist heel for this look, at the least.
Bad outfit aside, we’re happy that “Scandal” is still going strong. Bellamy talked about what it was like during the first season, and how amazing it is to be celebrating 100 episodes. The actress also talked about her new onscreen flame.
