Blake Lively is giving Rihanna some tough competition for the title of queen of the whole 2018 Met Gala. The “Gossip Girl” actress made one of the most grand entrances of the night in an Atelier Versace wine-red-and-gold gown with sheer leg panels, a jewel-encrusted bodice and a dramatic long train.

The 30-year-old mom-of-two adhered to the ball’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme by donning a custom-made halo encrusted with over 100 carats of nude champagne diamonds. The rest of her over $2 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry include Colombian-emerald-and-diamond earrings, a stack of gold bracelets on her left wrist, three diamond and ruby rings, and her very own engagement ring from husband Ryan Reynolds.

For an extravagant look that took more than 600 hours to make, only the best of the best of accessories will do, which Christian Louboutin graciously stepped up to deliver. The French shoe connoisseur created matching red-suede peep-toe sandals that featured stone-and-jewel-embellished platforms and tough, crocodile-leather-covered stiletto heels. The gold tassels dangling from jewel charms at the back gave a nod to the ball’s religion-based theme.

Many have expressed their dislike for the sheer panels down the legs of Blake’s Versace gown, but we shoe lovers appreciate them because they gave us glimpses of the gorgeous custom Louboutin heels.
