Petite at 5ft 1½ inches and wearing a US shoe size 7, Constance Zimmer stopped by Live with Kelly and Mark in an effortlessly chic all-black ensemble, using sleek proportions and sharp heels to elongate her frame as she discussed the fourth season of The Lincoln Lawyer and her role in FX’s Love Story.

On the hit Netflix series, Zimmer plays Dana Berg, a deputy district attorney prosecuting Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), the charismatic criminal-defense lawyer and recovering addict. This season raises the stakes even higher, with Mickey finding himself on the other side of the courtroom after being framed for murder when Sam Scales’ (Christopher Thornton) body is discovered in his car at the end of Season 3.
Aside from the Netflix series, which is currently the No. 2 show on the platform, Zimmer is also appearing in Ryan Murphy’s new FX series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, portraying Ann Messina Freeman, the mother of Carolyn. The series premieres tomorrow, February 12, and will be available on FX and FX on Hulu.
Velvet & Versatility: Constance Zimmer’s Alexandre Birman ‘Jada’ Pumps
Constance Zimmer looked chic in her sleek and quietly commanding all-black look, but my eyes went straight to her shoes.
She walked the pavement wearing the Alexandre Birman “Jada” Mary Jane pumps, crafted in Italy from rich black velvet. The texture alone elevated the look, adding richness and depth while still letting the rest of the outfit shine.
For a hint of contrast, these pumps featured a pointed square toe finished with a grosgrain toe cap. They also had a classic Mary Jane strap across the foot, trimmed in matching grosgrain and fastened with a square buckle that felt both timeless and modern.
Set on a 3.25-inch flared heel, the pumps strike that sweet spot between style and comfort. If you’re tempted, they retail for $795 at Bergdorf Goodman.

Petite Power Dressing: The Edeline Lee Two-Piece That Elongates Her Frame
Zimmer paired the feminine pumps with a playful yet refined two-piece by Edeline Lee, the London-based Canadian-British designer known for her smart, feminine, and practical designs. The pairing felt effortless, striking a clear balance between comfort and structure.
She wore the “Telluride” midi skirt, handcrafted in England from a smooth, mid-weight Georgette Champion fabric woven in Italy. The high-rise waist and mid-calf length gave it a clean, classic shape, but the details kept it interesting.
Covered white buttons ran down the center front, creating a sharp contrast against the black fabric, while the buckle waist belt added structure. The buttons weren’t just decorative; they were actually functional, which made the skirt wearable. It was finished with soft pleats and a slight flare that moved beautifully as she walked.

Zimmer styled the skirt with a black cropped top that revealed a hint of her midriff, giving the look a confident, refreshing edge, especially for a 55-year-old.
Over the set, she layered the “Antheia” tailored jacket, also by Edeline Lee. Crafted in England from heavy Italian-woven crepe, the jacket featured narrow structured shoulders, a longline silhouette, and a single-breasted closure that echoed the skirt’s buttons. It was polished enough for a meeting but relaxed enough for a casual city stroll. Constance took it off inside the studio, revealing the details of her crop top, including its boat neckline and long sleeves.
Gilded Glamour: Accessorizing All-Black With Bold Gold Layers
When it came to accessories, Zimmer took a maximalist approach. While part of me would have preferred silver or white gold to mirror the buttons on her outfit, she leaned fully into yellow gold instead. She layered several gold chain necklaces, added matching earrings, and finished with a few rings that brought warmth to the all-black look.
The American actress then carried her essentials in a brown suede bag accented with gold-tone hardware. Oversized black sunglasses added a touch of drama, while her makeup was kept fresh and understated with soft pink tones. Zimmer wore her hair in a half-up style with face-framing fringe, keeping the overall look relaxed, polished, and effortlessly cool.
