Sarah Harding, who has a net worth $9 million, channeled her inner rock chick as she arrived at ITV’s central London studios on Monday to promote her first solo single, “Threads.”

If you hadn’t heard, rumors have been flying that the actress was axed after four episodes on Coronation Street, Britain’s longest-running soap opera. The popstar was slammed by viewers for her acting and critics flocked to social networks to tell her to not give up the day job.

The former Girls Aloud member shrugged off the negative comments.

“I try not to pay any attention to that,” she said. “If you’re going in as a known face, you’re always going to get flak. If anything, I turn all that into a positive energy. It just makes me more determined. I enjoyed it. It’s off my bucket list now. I’ve done films before, but I’ve never done soaps before. I was only asked to do four episodes and I had the time to do it while I was waiting for my track to be finished.”

“It made me happy anyway, so never mind what anyone else thought,” she added. “Everyone’s going to have an opinion at the end of the day.”

For the TV appearance, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter opted for a tough but sexy look. She wore a fitted black sweater tucked into a bondage-inspired leather miniskirt by The Kooples, which featured button-up studs and a waist-defining belt.

The English singer/model/actress, who rose to fame in late 2002 when she auditioned for the ITV reality series Popstars: The Rivals, wore her short blonde locks in loose waves with a center part and kept her makeup simple as she hid her eyes behind a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.

She also sported black nail polish.
