British actress Cynthia Erivo had all the reasons to smile on Sunday’s 2020 Oscars red carpet. She was nominated for Best Actress for portraying abolitionist Harriet Tubman in the biographical film Harriet. In addition, she was also up for Best Original Song for Stand Up, which is the lead single from the soundtrack to the biopic movie.

Although the 33-year-old actress didn’t take home any awards, she earned a standing ovation as she belted out a powerful performance of Stand Up, which she wrote with Joshuah Brian Campbell. For her performance, she wore a custom Vera Wang gold gown.

Before hitting the stage for her breathtaking performance, Cynthia turned heads on the red carpet in a white gown by Atelier Versace.

The Best Actress nominee looked ethereal in her voluminous gown, which features a sexy corset-style bejeweled bodice. The bustier top has a one-shoulder strap design and crystal mesh detailing that shows a glimpse of flesh.

It also boasts a billowing skirt that features a thigh-high split, which allows her to flaunt her toned legs.

Stylist Jason Bolden added an extra dose of sparkle to Cynthia’s look with seven Piaget cocktail rings, totaling over 750 diamonds. She also wore a pair of Piaget earrings and multiple Maria Tash earrings.
