Dolce & Gabbana presented its Spring/Summer 2014 collection during Milan Fashion Week on September 22.

Renowned fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana once again drew inspiration from Italian history, particularly from the Sicilian culture.

Aside from reverting to their favorite inspiration, they also used the ancient Greek culture and the 1969 fantasy-drama film Satyricon as artistic influences for the new collection.

As a result, Dolce & Gabbana’s spring and summer runway show became one of the most talked-about presentations during the Milan Fashion Week.

The models looked elegant as they walked down the catwalk wearing silk dresses, skirts, and tunics that were embroidered with blooming almond trees and flower designs and printed with bouldered column-like structures.

Almost every piece was actually encrusted with gold, too. There were also some lingerie-style dresses, lacy outfits, polka dots, and fur.

As for the accessories, we noticed the use of ancient gold coins and almond tree flowers on headbands, earrings, necklaces, and even on belts. The fashion house’s shoe collection also features superb pairs, some of which have antique column heels.

Now, what’s a Dolce & Gabbana collection without a new set of covetable bags?

Still incorporating the same motif and design, the brand is offering woven bags, knit bags, leather bags, wooden clutches, and some embroidered and embellished purses for spring and summer next year.

Columns, coins, flowers, and even snakeskin designs are what you’ll be seeing in this collection.
